I'm a cricket coach, and I find these baseball fielding drills are really useful for teaching cricket. Obviously in fielding the basic skills are the same. Not enough cricket coaches pay attention to this point.
Very good reference, I bought his infield course for my son. He does talk about step through, but before throwing you have to "Take a mini hop or a shuffle step (whichever is more comfortable) and make your throw." . Good luck with your kids.

Talks about doing it both ways. The kids I teach are 6-8 years old. I show them both but notice shuffle gets them almost hopping. The step through I have noticed helps them with footwork with other parts of the game also.
As an infielder, you never want to cross one foot in front of the other, an take the chance of tripping. You want to shuffle to align your hips and shoulders to the target . The fundamental is right - left catch right - left throw. Here's an example with Xander Bogaert : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkyhYBsbDK8. Where do you get that stepping through is a fundamental? Any good source to provide so I can check what is the rational?

Hey! I know this comment is unrelated to the video but I think you should do a video on this because it helped my bat speed soo much. Ok, so what I do is I take my Big Wooden Bat and while I'm sitting down I just Swing the bat over my head ( One Handed ) to where it is all the way behind me and then I swing it back over my head to where it nearly touches the ground but not quite. Just a suggestion :))
