About the Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One Movie Trailer
Set in the future in a time of interplanetary colonization, an unlikely pair race against an impending global crisis and are confronted by the monsters that live inside us all.
I may not know much about cinema or this specific genre... but when I saw this film I had the terrible feeling that I had absolutely wasted my time (which I won't ever be able to take back).
The filmmakers obviously worked with a low budget, and I did not really expect it to be good, but not THAT bad...
I'm a big skeptic with B style sci-fi but I gave this high marks and I consider myself a balanced critic. There is a lot to enjoy with this film. In fact I really enjoyed it and would love to see a sequel.
This is well worth the watch. Thankfully it doesn't dwell too much on hackneyed scifi tropes and instead concentrates on a very colorful cast of characters and a really smart budget. They had a crackerjack DP on this thing and more than a couple stand-out performances. It's exactly the kind of film you would have rented back in the video store days based on a cool cover and title even though you'd likely never heard of it and didn't recognize any of the stars (it's Aussie).
This is scifi that doesn't need to be "ground breaking", it does what only the best do, which is focus on telling the story with great characters.
No black people in... I’m sorry but who cares. Who cares if all white or all black or Italian or Chinese? Maybe the casting people saw the acting (whether you think it’s good or not) they liked the acting. They don’t care about the race. I mean at least I hope not but most like 95% it’s on the acting, gender.
People need to get over this I know it’s a big thing and don’t get me wrong I’m all for equal rights in everything but not everything in the world needs to be targeted like this. Just enjoy the movie or whatever geez people...
Everything about this looks good.. Except for the cast. Honestly.
Edit: looked at the comments and realised there was A lot of whiney children complaining about diversity. I don't think the cast is bad because its not diverse I think the cast is bad because they are bad actors.
Star wars episode 8: Feminazi's killed the last Jedi..
Unfortunately, it was one of the worst sf movies I've seen lately. They used up ALL the scifi footage in the trailer, this is all they have, except the monsters. There was a lot of meaningsless violence and extremely weak plot, it sucked big time.
I used to think about the movie "Skyline", it only cost around 10 M USD and it was a brilliant movie...so it should even cost too much to render a few spaceships and stuff BUT you must have a plot, damn it. I say it as a scifi nerd who likes almost anything scifi, lol. You could watch an episode from the new series (Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow or ST Voyager) and you would be better off. What were they thinking?
A surprisingly good beginning that quickly becomes a mixed bag, ultimately this film was a horrible experience for me, nothing worse than seeing a film that gets so much right be brought down by a few key people...I'm not sure if I have ever seen such exemplary potential be so thoroughly squandered.
Concept : 3.5/5
Production : 3/5
Art, Costume, Make up : 3/5Camera and Lighting 3.5/5
Acting : 3.5/5Sound : 4/5
Special Effects/CGI: 4/5
^^Decent scores and especially good for a Australian film
Writing : 0.5/5 The writers need to get off the drugs, if they aren't on drugs then maybe they should be. Seriously though, the base concept is good and parts of the naritive are very good but whereas other parts are equally bad. The script has many technical problems but all of them put together aren't as bad as the exploding nuclear reactor trope used as the ticking clock of the overarching naritive, as most people living in developed countries would know nuclear reactors are not bombs, they don't explode like bombs they “melt down”, FFS the term “melt down” was in the film and yet they still used it as the ticking clock...they could have just said reactor and left it to our imagination...if that level of ignorance is rampant in Australia it is no surprise that Australians don't have nuclear power...
Directing : 1/5
The Director needs to get off the drugs and if they aren't on drugs then maybe they need to be. But seriously, unintuitive shots, weird angles and zoom, the result is a serious film that sometimes looks like it was shot by one of the directors of a Power Rangers TV episode.
Dialect Coaching : 0/5 It seems like they didn’t have a dialect coach but i could be wrong. Nontheless, Some of the worst accents I have ever heard, it wasn't that any individual dialect was that bad but the constantly changing nature of the accents was a immersion killer. Suffice to say that 'that' Dialect Couch might have trouble getting work in the future...
i dont know what is happening in the comments, but i saw the movie and was a nice surprise, the movie is very good , its not predictable . I can even say that this movie could be a future "cult film". Definitively worth the view. Better than a lot of yanki movies.
For it's budget it's pretty darn good. No fan fair regarding when the (SPOILER) dad dies. Absolutely none. No dramatic bullshit at all. Very realistic. Also a few great actors, including Kellen Lutz and Teagan Croft (for her age) especially. Kellen Lutz carried this movie though. He did outstanding.
I'm black and didn't even notice the races shit you're all talking about. Wtf is wrong with you people. Can't you just appreciate a movie for what it is ? Color skin is that important to you ? Are we just an excuse for you to bitch about cultural diversity ? "Gawd" your life must be so boring...
This actually a really good film, it suffers from lack of budget but does a really good job of hiding it. The acting from everyone was respectable and the scenery and sets were fantastic. This film is also largely original and everything that isn't is done in it's own way. The CGI is far better than the ridiculous monster suits, and the ending was great right up until 1 minute from the credits. Defiantly worth watching especially for sci-fi fans, and actually far better a film than I think anyone expected it to be.
And stop complaining about there being no black people, there is in fact not a single black person in this film, but there isn't a single black person in Hacksaw Ridge, The Last Samurai, Dead Snow, Sean of the Dead, Machete, or any other film not made or set in Africa or America because Black guys are from Africa and Americans kidnapped more than anyone else.
Absolutely the opposite, it was made for less that $40,000, and it was made in Australia, and the plot is a lot deeper than you think, there is a genetic testing conspiracy, illegal slavery, a monster apocalypse and some really well thought out characters, even a couple of incestuous rednecks.
The girl in the beginning is playing the next raven in the new live action teen titans show, I like the fact that she does sorta have the monotone/ emotionless/ no-nonsense voice like raven
Kids grow up too fast for tv, so usually when making shows theyll probably have them as young as possible for the show to really have a good run of seasons.
