What causes addiction? Easy, right? Drugs cause addiction. But maybe it is not that simple.

Everything We Think We Know About Addiction Is Wrong

I really like the tone and attitude of this video, it just kind of worries me that people who have never gone through it before might reinforce the idea that dependence is more of a willpower/attitude thing than physical. The video almost seems like it’s saying “if you have a relatively happy life, then you won’t have withdrawal symptoms or cravings,” which if you’ve ever been through it you know isn’t true.
Like I said at the beginning, I love the tone and attitude and even most of the idea, I just disagree that living in a human “Rat Park” would prevent you from withdrawal or cravings or addiction.
The reason the rats didn’t become addicted in Rat Park was because they were happy enough to begin with to not feel the need/want to use, not because Rat Park cured them.
This makes out heroine addiction is some sort or craving.... no, it’s not, addiction to heroine is a complete and utter hell!!! You are in complete agony if you don’t take it, sometimes you can’t move because the pain is so bad, and they just want to take the drug to feel normal again not just to get high... getting high is what new addicts do... feeling normal like the rest off society is what people who have been addicts for more than a couple of years do, I wrestled and I competed in my twenties, i trained so hard even won the British championships, but one night I hurt my back so bad!! The pain was so bad, I literally had to shit in a bucket beside my bed because I couldn’t walk or even move, so the doctor put me on very strong pain killers, well after 13 weeks I got a lot better, so I stoped taking the painkillers..... OMG the withdrawal was from another planet, the pain I was in dwarfed the back pain I had in the 1st place, I had pains in my eyes, pains in my legs, stomach pain, severe depression, it felt like I had crushed glass under my skin, I honestly can’t express how bad this pain from the withdrawal was
3:03 But if you go back to your nice home with your friends and your family and a TARDIS THAT YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE WITH, its the equivalent of being taken out of that first cage, and put into a device that CAN GO ANYWHERE AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT
This is true addiction is the drug that the skin provides don't ever put it off like it does not exist ( because that's what I did ) take it to god and ask for spiritual healing its what I done and ever since that happened I've been doing better
No you are dependent on breathing ...if you were addicted to it, you would think about all the time, make a conscious effort to do it...obsess about how you're breathing, how much air you are taking in, where the next breath will come from, the quality of the air you're taking in.....
