Hi Everyone, here is a list of some of the accessories I used in the video including the shapewear. You can find them on this link to my blog and if you do get something we do get a small amount, so thanks for that!
Hi, Gorgeous! ! I was lucky enough to find you for the first time today, as I'm facing an upcoming birthday, and more "curves " than I've ever seen before....😣
Watching you just made me smile, and I have a feeling I'll be seeing a lot more of you!! You are so real and personable!! I love that you spoke as if you were speaking to your best friend...
Thank you for making my day!! Take care!!🤗🤗
I'm a newbie, subscribed today, I have an interesting story us former model professional ballet dancer ballet dancer and full-time LMT and yoga teacher due to health issues I had several surgeries in my abdominal region and from my sternum to my belly button is my problem area can you help love what I'm seeing.
So glad you have joined us by subscribing, welcome! Are you asking for help because you had surgeries? I know it's difficult to exercise this area. I had a hysterectomy and I don't have the muscles there as I used to. That's another reason I try to hide my belly area.
Good video. I wear loose tops because clingy tops look horrid. I'm overweight, have big boobs and have a large roll of fat that starts directly below my boobs and goes to my belly button. My waist is ill-defined. I can't be proud of these curves. They're the result of overeating and under-exercising and are terribly unhealthy. "Curvy" does not describe me unless you understand that I'm curvy like a barrel. I have to be soooo careful about what I choose to wear. Fabrics must be loose enough to hide the rolls of fat, but not so loose that I look like I'm wearing a tent. Unfortunately, blazers are a real problem. I have to go up a size or I can't button them. This means they don't fit in the shoulders. I've learned I look best in unstructured, knit blazers. I do, however, successfully wear the type of pants/jeans you are sporting in this video and yes, they make all the difference. Shapewear is out- it is too hot and causes bulges wherever the shapewear stops and my skin begins. I rarely wear camisoles- again, too hot. The only real solution for me is to lose weight, but cutting out the snacking and taking the time to exercise has proved incredibly difficult and I fail over and over again. It's not a lack of knowledge. I know how to properly eat and move. I just don't do it.
I hear you and thanks for your honest comment. I'm sure many relate but haven't voiced it here. I'm a lazy exerciser and I'm doing a video in January to show how I do it. Maybe it will help you. I sit at a desk most of the time answering comments, writing scripts etc.. and have to make the time to move for a few minutes. Habits take about 40 days to become routine and I'm getting there. Health for me now at 63 years old is so important (should have been all along) Hope my videos help. Take care Diane.
I am an apple. That means I have a large waist and no hips or butt. You have a perfect hour-glass figure with a few extra pounds. It's easy to dress. My body is impossible to dress and it's made worse by the fact that I'm only 5' tall and 66. Let's see what you can come up with for a body that is basically a cube!
I know the clothing has to be fuller and possible darker but how about wearing a beautiful statement necklace or a red lipstick where the eyes move upwards. I know you should be proud of yourself but since you're asking the question, this is what I would do.
I'm so sorry this is the case for you. Somehow though you must embrace what a wonderful person you are and believe that from your heart. Curves are just the outer part of our body, your soul will get you through this.
I always say to be your authentic self but if you're hiding under over-sized clothing and dark black colors it's time to lose the hiding once & awhile and glow with some bright colors and loose fit clothing that still shows you have a figure underneath. If you love leggings like I do you need to cover your bottom with something long on top but not necessarily bulky and over-sized. Hope this helps- Heather
OMG..I don't know how I ended here in your channel...and I sooo pleased that I stop here and watched it... I'm your new subscriber...thank you so much for your advice... FYI..I have a same body type of you...lol
This is my first time watching one of your videos and absolutely LOVED it❤Thank you so much for the great tips. And a big thank you to Bill for doing an awesome job with the camera. You look amazing❤❤❤
I'm buying all my clothes myself right now so I don't have unwanted clothes. But that's an idea for the future...I might give them to charity though for women trying to get into the work force that need them.
I bought it at a small boutique a few years ago Linda. I do have similar pants, shapewear , tops etc.. at our Amazon storefront at www.Amazon.com/shop/awesomeover50 under our Fashion section. Click on the blue flowy cardigan there and maybe you'll find something similar. All the best with your searching.
My husband said that in tip # 7 you look more fatter and shorter without long top.. #6 dress is much better on you than short one.. proportions are matter .. and certain garments change proportions not for our good.. and last wear looks the best on you.. :o)
You stated your age. As i write this, I'm a hair behind ... and I dare say, you're God's b'day present to me 6 weeks early. Because if I look half as good as you (and yeah, I'm not bad at all) maybe I can stop giving guys a blank look when they give me the once-over on a "bad" day with no makeup. Love Your Hair! ty xo K
First time viewer. Great video!!! You seem to really enjoy yourself. Love your professionalism and presentation. I was stuck in oversized clothing. I'm trying to be confident in my size and wear what actually fits. Thanks for your tips!!! 😊
You are a great teacher! I'm sorry but the size six girls, ladies on the you tube videos attempting to teach how to look slimmer in clothes on their own bodies, just doesn't work for me. I want to see proof and instantly. I have some deep seated negative programming telling me I am over weight and will never look good in outfits again. Body image links to emotional maturity/self love or acceptance in some way. I am now rebelling against my own thoughts. Thanks to videos like yours, I can affirm I am on the right track. :) When I feel amazing in an outfit, that looks good on. That combined with the visual guidelines of dressing. Bring it on. I have purchased a dress form and will be teaching myself sewing alterations. Thanks again.
Wow, your comment just made my day if I'm helping you in some small way with this. I use to listen to the negative chatter to myself, especially since I was once a model and no longer skinny. I now think I'm beautiful and my positive affirmations (I still have to eat right & exercise) about my body weight give me the confidence and therefore happiness I need to live a happier life. So glad you're on this track to Tina. All the best with it!!!
Unfortunate that the black boot heels were against a black top. I would have liked to see the heel. Just a couple inches moved in either direction would have put them against the wall color.
Something to watch for in the future when editing.
Great advice Linda, thanks. This was one of our earlier videos and we are now showing closeups when the shoes or boots are featured as a main focus in the video. Thanks for the constructive comment, appreciated.
Hi Dawn, thanks for your question. Maybe this video can help (at the end of this comment) You can always look for the same looks at thrift stores there are some great finds there . You're only in your 70s and can rock some of these warm weather looks . Hope this helps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQETVYRlN9s&t=2s
Not only hope at 64 but so much to offer this world! I'm so happy that you will no longer hide. Hiding is a way of having low self esteem. You're beautiful no matter how many curves you have! Enjoy your new clothes and OWN how awesome you look without hiding. All the best.
This is the first of your videos I watched and I immediately subscribed to your channel! You're gorgeous, I love your attitude. I don't quite agree to not wearing oversized clothing because you also looked amazing in that oversized blouse ☺ And you're absolutely right that posture is the most important thing! Much love from Germany 😙
You keep saying your curvy but your not. The majority of your body fat is right in the belly. Just because your round shaped does not equate to being curvy. Please stop claiming curvy. You are plus sized, not curvy.
Good video! Me and my sister have the tummy bulge and appreciate your advice. We have a question about tummy ware? How do you prevent them from rolling down? Everytime we wear them we are pulling them up all day!!
Hi Margie, I just bought shapewear with straps that allows you to wear your own bra. I didn't really have a problem with the rolling but I went dancing and sure enough it rolled down! The straps keep it in place to hold the tummy in! Hope this helps. Heather
You do have awesome ideas. Here's one for you, you really would look 10 years younger with a collar bone length Bob hair cut. Truely, when we get a little mature the length really adds years, honest. Because your curls are lovely & a Bob would show them to your best advantage !!!
This one is super thin Linda. It's made by Jockey, I think it's a man-made material but it's a nice one. The cotton ones are too hot for me too! I also just bought a eyelit top, it will be featured in my Summer Finds video out this Friday. It's wonderful to have a top with eyelet holes everywhere so I keep cool.
I have similar problems. Small weights are great for the flabby arms and many videos on YouTube give low impact exercises you can do at your desk. (search them in YouTube under flabby arm exercises) When I drink or eat any dairy I get big around the middle and look pregnant. I also do low impact sit ups etc.. and am watching more of what I eat. More veggies and fruits and less sugars and especially bread. Hope this helps. Heather
Theses days folks use the word “fluffy” for bodies that have extra inches on their beautiful curves. Great video. Will have to go looking for your version in shape wear. I have stuff like my mother use to wear which is not comfortable. Again. Thanks
I like your tips and your personality. I think perhaps you should have your colors done, I think if you wore these styles in your very best shades you would have even more of a lovely look than you already do.
I must say that I was nervous putting out this video. I'm just speaking from my heart and hoping it helps. Your words give my strength to keep on making these kind of videos. I want people to have more confidence, that's the most important thing.
