Cummins Kyle it could be the draw straw in the tank too, could be letting all ur fuel pressure drain back into the tank, if I were u I’d look at every possible thing before coughing up 1500 for a new vp, but the vp44s are known for failing tho.
I dm’d you on insta Cummins Kyle. Haven’t heard a response. But if you didn’t get it it said my buddy had the same exact starting issue as you’re having. His issue turned out to be a broken O Ring on one of his crossover tubes to the injectors. He ordered a new set of injectors from DAP for pretty cheap that came with new crossover tubes and that solved the starting issues!
Yeah definitely common, my 99 does it also, was just wondering, ecm are expensive so I’m trying to figure other stuff out before I go with one, mines pretty stable as well, and for the vp, if you have the cash I heard really good things about blue chip, give them a look
The grid heater is def working now because in the past it would start with tons of white smoke and now it doesn't smoke really even on the coldest of days. It's looking like it's the vp44. At the mechanic now waiting for further answers.
That's ecm related. Delayed wts light is common on the 98.5 and 99 trucks. Only thing that solves that is a new ecm but my truck has been doing that for the last 2.5 years so as of right now it seems to be stable.
