I spanked those in my automatic 2001 GT all the time in Florida. I also had a 400 pound stereo system in it. Yes I had some minor boltons a real tune and 410 gears with a built trans, stall and shift kit. They would still be shifting out of 1st by the time I was roasting the middle of 2nd gear. I had no head or cam work done. It's not always about hp, it's about who can go A to B the fastest.
I converted my GT to an 03 Cobra. I did everything but the engine. Those seats were the worst seats ever, especially when it slammed 2nd gear and the drivers seat would come unhinged and you were laid on you back. I don't miss it.
Man this car is sweet! But people swapped the SRA into the rear because the IRS on those cars are not the best for drag racing. People would buy DSS 1500hp half shafts for the IRS making 700 at the tire and they would snap. SRA in long term is cheaper and way better for straight line
Keep the terminator videos, they're running out of video's, I always love your channel, I have a vert 03, stage 5 Steig, 2.76 upper, everything else is still factory, thinking of a Steig 7 or 8 with venom cooler, 4lb lower, bigger injectors, try to get at least 570rwhp, what else can I do?
To get 570 hp its gonna be very hard with a eaton, x-pipe, catback, TB, CAI, and on E85 should be possible of 550 hp, that is what i have, but i havent been on a dyno. Otherwise you have to change cams or go with Nos also to get 570 i think. Or just change the blower

Huh i didn't realize the convertible was more rare. Younger guy around here had one for years, just seen it at the used lot. Traded it on a Roush 13/14. Had a really loud exhaust on it but he couldn't drive it, had a friend in his 05 GT pull him from a 30mph roll which should not happen.
