Stephen Hawking: Women were the one mystery that kept world famous scientist guessing. S one of the world’s greatest scientists, he was mentally equipped to solve even the most complex mathematical problems in an instant. But there was always one thing that he said remained a mystery to him – women. Prof Hawking came to epitomise the limitless power of the human mind deciphering quantum physics, black holes and the theory of relativity...

Here are 10 interesting insights into the life and viewpoints of Stephen Hawking. Sure, Stephen Hawking is a brilliant, groundbreaking scientist, but that's not all the man is about. Here are 10 interesting insights into his life and his views. Number 10. He believes Earth is on its last legs. He gives the planet a thousand years before it succumbs to its own fragility. Hawking recommends people start shopping around space for a new home base. Number 9. Stephen Hawking attended an all-girls school for a time. His family moved to St. Albans while his father was working in a nearby city. It was there that he and a few other boys attended St. Albans High School for Girls. Number 8. In his youth his nickname was 'Einstein'. Despite the fact that his grades were mediocre, his aptitude was noticed by teachers and students alike. They were right, as he later earned a nearly perfect score on his Oxford scholarship physics exam -- and went on to become a highly celebrated genius. Number 7. He believes black holes are different from what we think they are. The vortices of doom are said to have event horizons, which serve as both an entrance and a point of no return. Hawking says they don't. Rather, they have 'apparent horizons' and only briefly trap energy and matter, later releasing it as radiation. Number 6. At 21 Hawking was told he only had a few years to live. He was diagnosed with ALS, also called Lou Gehrig's disease, and that the outlook was grim. In January of 2014 the physicist celebrated his 72nd birthday. Number 5. He's also a children's book author. In 2007 he and his daughter Lucy published 'George's Secret Key to the Universe', the first book in a series about a young space traveler. Number 4. He's a big fan of zero gravity. Hawking was among the first with his disability to test out the technology that can send a plane to near space, and in the process got a few moments away from his wheelchair. Said one person who was there, "He would have flown more if we let him." Number 3. His voice synthesizer talks in American, but Hawking is British. He and the Queen of England recently had a chuckle about it. She ran into the scientist at an event and asked, 'Have you still got that American voice?' Hawking replied, 'Yes, it is copyrighted actually'. Number 2. He's a repeat guest on the Simpsons. According to Hawking his several appearances on the show as himself have some people thinking he's actually a cartoon character. Number 1. Hawking doesn't believe God created the universe. For that matter, he doesn't believe in fate, heaven, or an afterlife. He does believe that each human has one chance to appreciate the world and its mysteries.

He once dubbed women a "complete mystery".And in the years before his death, Professor Stephen Hawking's troubled love life was well-documented.The renowned British physicist went through two marriage breakdowns - the first with his university sweetheart, Jane Hawking, with whom he had three kids. The second was with his nurse, Elaine Mason, from whom he split in 2006 after what he described as a "passionate and tempestuous" 11-year marriage.Prof Hawking, widely regarded as one of the most intelligent people the world has ever known, passed away peacefully at his home in the early hours of today. As a 22-year-old, he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a rare form of motor neurone disease, and given just a few years to live. But defying medics' expectations, he lived to 76, marrying twice and having children Lucy, Robert and Tim before his death at his Cambridge property.By the time of his diagnosis five decades ago, Prof Hawking had already met his future wife Jane Wilde, a languages student who pulled him out of a deep depression. The young couple fell for each other after meeting at a party in 1962.They married in 1965 and went on to have Robert, followed by Lucy and Tim.Although Prof Hawking's disease progressed rapidly, it eventually slowed as he devoted himself to his studies and work, investigating the basic laws which govern the universe, without knowing how much time he had left to live. But while his work life was flourishing, the celebrated physicist's marriage was under immense strain as his isolated wife struggled to cope with the demands of a young family and a husband in a wheelchair. In 2015, Jane told the Telegraph that she was driven to the brink of suicide several times while caring for her spouse and their children. In Prof Hawking's memoir, My Brief History, published in 2013, the physicist wrote that his wife feared he would die soon and, when that happened, she wanted someone who would support her and marry her.In 1977, Jane met musician Jonathan Hellyer Jones after joining a local church choir. He moved into the family's Cambridge flat with Prof Hawking's blessing, as he too wanted someone to care for his wife and kids after he died. But although Jane and Jonathan maintained a platonic relationship for a long time, Prof Hawking reportedly grew increasingly unhappy with it.He grew close to Elaine - who was one of his nurses and whose first husband invented the computerised voice synthesiser that he used.In 1990, after 26 years of marriage, he left Jane and moved into a flat with Elaine.Five years later, he divorced his first wife and married the nurse. Two years on, in 1997, Jane and Jonathan tied the knot.In 2004, nurses caring for Prof Hawking went to police with allegations that his second wife was physically and emotionally abusing him. However, the physicist and Elaine denied the allegations and an investigation was dropped by police. The couple eventually divorced in 2006.While he had a grasp on things th

The balance? (A nano seconds gap) Just the head, (the gaps of a nano second) is the only thing in the body that was fully active throughout the whole life. It seems that no mystery is the secret for him, but he knows everything. Although he himself did not think it. And it is difficult to think of this hockey being able to think about something but could not afford it. And the thing that goes from mysterious to haqing in my life is 'woman'. The world outside of central Maine almost never got to know Stephen King. If not for his wife’s diligence and her confidence in her husband, the book that launched a million pages might never have come into being. When his wife Tabitha rescued the start of the manuscript of “Carrie” from the trash and insisted her husband finish it, King was working as an English teacher and writing on the side. Tabitha’s judgment was right, Carrie became a smash hit, and Stephen King is one of the world’s most famous and most prolific authors. So what’s the story behind the stories? But it was Jane and their three children whom he invited to his 75th birthday party at his Cambridge home in January last year, which they celebrated with friends and a huge firework display. It is they who are now planning his funeral. Married in 1965, Jane and Stephen Hawking divorced in 1995, five years after the professor had left her for Elaine. Jane would later recount in her raw and brutally honest memoir, on which The Theory Of Everything — the 2015 film starring Eddie Redmayne — was based, that coping with his disability, his fame and three small children had, at times, left her in a ‘black hole of despair’. Professor Hawking’s former PA, Judy Fella, told the Mail yesterday that Jane never stopped feeling responsible for her ex-husband and continued to care for him right to the end. ‘You cannot imagine how difficult it must have been for Jane and the children in the early years,’ says Judy, who worked for Professor Hawking for 14 years from the Seventies. They remained friends and she, too, attended his 75th party. ‘They stayed close because of their shared devotion to their three children, and there was something very beautiful about that towards the end of his life.’ In her 2007 memoir Travelling To Infinity, My Life With Stephen, Jane recalled the first time she encountered Stephen, in 1963, while walking through their home town of St Albans with a friend. ‘We had scarcely gone a hundred yards when a strange sight met our eyes: lolloping along in the opposite direction was a young man with an awkward gait, his head down his face shielded under an unruly mass of straight brown hair,’ recalled Jane. A few months later they met at a party. Hawking was then a 21-year-old cosmology research student at Cambridge, and shortly afterwards Jane learned that he’d been diagnosed with ‘some terrible, paralysing, incurable disease’. ‘They reckon he’s probably only got a couple of years to live,’ a mutual friend told her. But a week later Jane, who admitted she was already falling for Stephen, met him again on a station platform. He was initially reluctant to contemplate a long-term relationship — and his parents warned Jane that their son’s life would be short — but ignoring their better judgment, they fell in love and were married in 1965. ‘He had beautiful eyes and this amazing sense of humour, so we were always laughi

TechZone ► https://goo.gl/Gj3wZs Do you know who Stephen Hawking is? During his life, this outstanding scientist and science popularizer made many discoveries and truly bold assumptions about the Universe. At the age of 20 Hawking began to show signs of a deadly disease: amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. After discovering this condition, doctors thought the scientist wouldn't live more than two and a half years, but he was one tough lucky bastard. Instead of sinking into despair, Hawking set himself an amazing goal: to fully understand the universe. He was really stubborn at trying to achieve this goal throughout his life. Having lost the ability to walk and even speak, he continued to travel around the world, he met with a variety of people, he even appeared on the screen, and, of course, he never stopped his researches for a day. On March 14th, 2018, Steven Hawking passed away, but his scientific theories will keep intriguing the humanity for several decades. In today's video, we are gonna explain some of his most amazing theories

The Official Trailer for The Theory of Everything In Cinemas New Year's Day, 2015 http://www.thetheoryofeverythingmovie.co.uk Subscribe to our channel - http://po.st/UniversalPicturesUK The Theory of Everything is the story of the most brilliant and celebrated physicist of our time, Stephen Hawking, and Jane Wilde the arts student he fell in love with whilst studying at Cambridge in the 1960s. Little was expected from Stephen Hawking, a bright but shiftless student of cosmology, given just two years to live following the diagnosis of a fatal illness at 21 years of age. He became galvanized, however, by the love of fellow Cambridge student, Jane Wilde, and he went on to be called the successor to Einstein, as well as a husband and father to their three children. Over the course of their marriage as Stephen’s body collapsed and his academic renown soared, fault lines were exposed that tested the lineaments of their relationship and dramatically altered the course of both of their lives. Stephen Hawking has been quoted as saying that it is perfectly rational to assume intelligent life exists somewhere in the universe. Narration provided by JaM Advertising New Mexico www.tasteofjam.com But while the discovery of life on another world may sound exciting, Hawking also believes that if a race of beings were sufficiently advanced enough to reach us, they would pose a huge threat to everyone and everything here on Earth. How will our first interactions with a visiting alien civilization take place? Observation would likely be followed by covert visitation by the aliens in order to judge our abilities and technological level even further. If man were to meet an alien race tomorrow, could our existing infrastructure cope? We have to assume that a sufficiently advanced civilisation is aware of the dangers of disease to both parties, so hopefully they'll have brought protection along for this intergalactic booty call. Whether or not an alien race shares our concepts of good and evil is hard to say, but that's probably how we'll judge them, so how can we be so sure they'll come to us with good intentions?

Happy Birthday Steven Hawking! The world's best known physicist will turn 70 this Sunday, and scientists around the globe are raising a glass to the space genius and all of his accomplishments. His work on such weighty topics as cosmic inflation, quantum physics and black holes have brought the Cambridge University professor awards and accolades from his peers, while controversial issues such as his scientific proof that God is not necessary for the creation of the universe have garnered public outrage. Diagnosed at age 21 with motor neuron disease, unable to speak and confined to a wheelchair for decades, Hawking is nonetheless known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He recently revealed what he believes is the greatest mystery of the cosmos; women.

World renowned physicist Stephen Hawking has died at the age of 76. The British scientist was famed for his work with black holes and relativity, and wrote several popular science books including "A Brief History of Time". At the age of 22 Stephen Hawking was given only a few years to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of motor neurone disease. The illness left him in a wheelchair and largely unable to speak except through a voice synthesiser. Stephen Hawking was the first to set out a theory of cosmology as a union of relativity and quantum mechanics. He also discovered that black holes leak energy and fade to nothing - a phenomenon that would later become known as Hawking radiation. The scientist gained popularity outside the academic world and appeared in several TV shows. Stephen Hawkings Life Historys |Physicist Stephen Hawking has died| Stephen Hawking 1942-2018 | TTT Stephen William Hawking CH CBE FRS FRSA (8 January 1942 – 14 March 2018) was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge. His scientific works included collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation often called Hawking radiation. Hawking was an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), a lifetime member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States. In 2002, Hawking was ranked number 25 in the BBC's poll of the 100 Greatest Britons. He was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge between 1979 and 2009 and achieved commercial success with works of popular science in which he discusses his own theories and cosmology in general. His book, A Brief History of Time, appeared on the British Sunday Times best-seller list for a record-breaking 237 weeks. Hawking had a rare early-onset slow-progressing form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neuron disease or Lou Gehrig's disease that gradually paralyzed him over the decades. Even after the loss of his speech, he was still able to communicate through a speech-generating device, initially through use of a hand-held switch, and eventually by using a single cheek muscle. He died on 14 March 2018. Stephen Hawking is known for his research into relativity, black holes, and quantum mechanics, as well as for the disease that has left him almost entirely paralyzed. But the theoretical cosmologist says that, were he to start from scratch, he wouldn't focus on physics. What would Stephen Hawking do with his life if he had to do it all over again? Hawking, as you know, was one of the world's most illustrious physicists and science author. And now he's out with a new book, a personal memoir entitled "My Brief History," out this week from Bantam. He doesn't give many interviews as his illness does not allow him to converse in real time, but he did agree to answer a few questions we put to him. And I think some of his responses may surprise you. Let me give you those right now. First, we asked him, are there any mysteries about the universe you think we may never be able to answer, questions beyond the reach of science? STEPHEN HAWKING: I believe there are no questions that science can't answer about a physical universe. Although we don't yet have the full understanding of the laws of nature, I think we will eventually find a complete unified theory. Some people would claim that things like love, joy and beauty belong to a different category from science and can't be described in scientific terms, but I think they can now be explained by the theory of evolution. FLATOW: We asked him another question - and I think this gave us a really interesting answer. We asked him if you were to start your career over again now, starting now, what would you study and why? HAWKING: If I were starting research now, I might study molecular biology, the science of life. Crick and Watson discovered the double helix structure of DNA and the genetic code in 1953. I did not realize its significance in 1957 when I had to choose a science to specialize in. In my school, the brightest boys did math and physics, the less bright did physics and chemistry and the least bright did biology. I wanted to do math and physics but my father made me do chemistry because he thought there would be no jobs for mathematicians. FLATOW: And finally we asked him what scientific question outside of physics most intrigues you? HAWKING: The biggest unsolved problem in science, outside physics, is the origin of life. Did it arrive spontaneously on Earth, and if so how, or did it come from another planet on a meteorite? ... More at http://www.npr.org/2013/09/13/222101247/stephen-hawking-looks-back?sc=tw

Stephen Hawking - From 1 To 75 Years Old - The Theory of Everything Born: January 8, 1942 Oxford, England English scientist, physicist, and mathematician #TreasureHouse British physicist and mathematician Stephen Hawking has made fundamental contributions to the science of cosmology—the study of the origins, structure, and space-time relationships of the universe. Early life Stephen William Hawking was born on January 8, 1942, in Oxford, England. His father, a well-known researcher in tropical medicine, urged his son to seek a career in medicine, but Stephen found biology and medicine were not exact enough. Therefore, he turned to the study of mathematics and physics. Hawking was not an outstanding student at St. Alban's School, nor later at Oxford University, which he entered in 1959. He was a social young man who did little schoolwork because he was able to grasp the essentials of a mathematics or physics problem quickly. At home he reports, "I would take things apart to see how they worked, but they didn't often go back together." His early school years were marked by unhappiness at school, with his peers and on the playing field. While at Oxford he became increasingly interested in physics (study of matter and energy), eventually graduating with a first class honors in physics (1962). He immediately began postgraduate studies at Cambridge University. Graduate school The onset of Hawking's graduate education at Cambridge marked a turning point in his life. It was then that he embarked upon the formal study of cosmology, which focused his study. And it was then that he was first stricken with Lou Gehrig's disease, a weakening disease of the nervous and muscular system that eventually led to his total confinement in a wheelchair. At Cambridge his talents were recognized, and he was encouraged to carry on his studies despite his growing physical disabilities. His marriage in 1965 was an important step in his emotional life. Marriage gave him, he recalled, the determination to live and make professional progress in the world of science. Hawking received his doctorate degree in 1966. He then began his lifelong research and teaching association with Cambridge University. Theory of singularity Hawking made his first major contribution to science with his idea of singularity, a work that grew out of his collaboration (working relationship) with Roger Penrose. A singularity is a place in either space or time at which some quantity becomes infinite (without an end). Such a place is found in a black hole, the final stage of a collapsed star, where the gravitational field has infinite strength. Penrose proved that a singularity could exist in the space-time of a real universe. Drawing upon the work of both Penrose and Albert Einstein (1879–1955), Hawking demonstrated that our universe had its origins in a singularity. In the beginning all of the matter in the universe was concentrated in a single point, making a very small but tremendously dense body. Ten to twenty billion years ago that body exploded in a big bang that initiated time and the universe. Hawking was able to produce current astrophysical (having to do with the study of stars and the events that occur around them) research to support the big bang theory of the origin of the universe and oppose the competing steady-state theory. Hawking's research led him to study the characteristics of the best-known singularity: the black hole. A black hole's edges, called the event horizon, can be detected. Hawking proved that the surface area (measurement of the surface) of the event horizon could only increase, not decrease, and that when two black holes merged the surface area of the new hole was larger than the sum of the two original. Hawking's continuing examination of the nature of black holes led to two important discoveries. The first, that black holes can give off heat, opposed the claim that nothing could escape from a black hole. The second concerned the size of black holes. As originally conceived, black holes were immense in size because they were the end result of the collapse of gigantic stars. Hawking suggested the existence of millions of mini-black holes formed by the force of the original big bang explosion. Unified field theory In the 1980s Hawking answered one of Einstein's unanswered theories, the famous unified field theory. A complete unified theory includes the four main interactions known to modern physics. The unified theory explains the conditions that were present at the beginning of the universe as well as the features of the physical laws of nature. When humans develop the unified field theory, said Hawking, they will "know the mind of God." Music: www.bensound.com

Crazy coincidences between The Simpsons and real life. Subscribe to our channel: https://goo.gl/cv6b96 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- “The Simpsons” have entertained families for over 27 years. They kept the show alive with silly humor and profound moments of ironic truth. But they also predicted the future again and again. The show also predicted Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime performance and a major discovery about the universe made by Stephen Hawking. So how were they able to predict the future so many times? It appears the writers and creators are students of human behavior. By watching our society, they were able to see the extreme future effects of everyday causes we’ve made in the past and present. “The Simpsons” totally nailed it with their witty jokes and storylines about our future. You’re not going to believe how many predictions came true! It’s like they have Nostradamus writing for the show. Check out these 20 times “The Simpsons” predicted the future. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheThingscom/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.thethings.com/
