What do you believe about your lot in life? Are those beliefs empowering you or preventing you from living a happy, fulfilled life?” Most of us do not make a conscious decision about what we believe. Rather, our beliefs are based on generalizations we make about our past. And unfortunately, many of us are wired to hone in on the painful experiences and form pessimistic beliefs about what that means for our current state of affairs and the potential for our future. How many times have you heard someone say “that’s just my luck” when something bad happens? Or make grandiose statements, claiming that bad things “always” happen or that it would take a miracle for their misfortune to change? No matter how much good transpires, we give the bad more attention, and, in turn, give the story of pain and struggle power. And we are uniquely skilled at finding more specific experiences to back those stories up. Because the more references we have to support our beliefs, the more valid they become for us. Yet this personal narrative prevents us from reaching our true potential and transforming the quality of our lives. Because limiting beliefs affect how much action we take, which then affects the results we get, which, in turn, reinforces our limiting beliefs. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy in which we are our own worst enemy. If you continue to tell yourself the same story, it will continue to be true. But when you change your story, you can change your life — a lesson actor Hugh Jackman recently learned at a recent Unleash the Power Within event: Your browser does not support the video tag. With an empowering story, individuals tend to find effective strategies, and effective strategies yield real results. But to find that empowering story, we first have to deal with our limiting beliefs. And that begins with addressing one of the most important elements of all — our state. The psychological and emotional state we are experiencing at any given moment tends to shape our story. We all develop emotional habits, or patterns, that influence how we perceive our lives. And the states that we are in most often become the most powerful filter of all, determining whether or not we find the strategies necessary to succeed or whether or not we create stories that empower us. So how do we break our negative states? How do we make the shift towards positive thought and feeling patterns? It all comes down to making the conscious decision to recondition your mind with empowering beliefs. Empowering beliefs help you transition into a new state of being where you have absolute certainty — you don’t just believe that your are capable of achieving great things, you know it. And when you have a mindset that what you’re doing is going to work, no matter what, you can propel yourself to accomplish virtually anything. Because when you’re certain about your potential, you take massive action. "Meetings Suck" by Cameron Herold - BOOK SUMMARY
-- See description for transcript and more information -- -- Introduction -- Meetings Suck is about turning one of the most loathed elements of business into one of the most valuable. Written by Cameron Herold, the founder of the COO Alliance, and who’s also been called “today’s CEO whisperer” by Forbes Magazine. -- The Big Idea -- Everybody hates meetings. However, that’s not because meetings suck, but rather because WE suck at running meetings. Think about it this way. If you signed up your kid to play little-league baseball without any training or explanation of the rules, what would be the outcome? They’d hate it. That’s how we currently approach meetings. Without a framework and understanding of how to get the most out of them. -- Key Insights -- People spend 1 to 2 hours every day in meetings. That’s effectively a quarter of their day! So we have to train them in order to get the most out of them. And we have to stop over-inviting people. Managers often worry about hurting their employees’ feelings, but it’s better NOT to invite someone to a meeting, rather than have them show up and not participate. So how can you set up and run meetings that are high-functioning? Every meeting should have a very clear agenda. What will be covered, in what order, and how many minutes for each item. We often book meetings for one hour, when they should only be 25 minutes. Thinking about the time each agenda item takes can save a lot of time. The agenda should be shared with everyone in advance of the meeting so they can prepare. This is especially relevant for the more introverted members of your team, who can contribute much more if they have time to think about the agenda beforehand. Having an agenda also makes it easier for the moderator to control the meeting, helps people stay focused, and allows them to decide for themselves if they should attend. And here’s another tip: end every meeting at least 5 minutes early. This allows you to walk down the hall, talk to your assistant, grab a quick coffee, and start your next meeting exactly on time. Never be late because that sends the message that either the meeting’s goal or the attendees’ time aren’t important to you. -- Conclusion -- This is a book for all employees at all types and sizes of companies… People are working very hard to avoid meetings all the time… instead, they end up over-using Slack and email. In reality, you need to meet face to face in order to avoid all the mis-understandings that happen with written communication. English Culture: Manners & How to be polite
In this video, you'll learn about English manners. I'll tell you what we in England consider polite and impolite, and then go into detail about how we eat at the table, make and cancel plans, visit friends, and so much more. Some of these cultural aspects of living in England are different even from other English-speaking countries like the USA! Knowing these rules can help you make friends, get jobs, and even get into a romantic relationship. Here are the things that are considered polite, and the things that are not considered polite. So this is a talk about the culture, things that people do here in England, and the things that traditionally have been the most acceptable behaviour. Let's start with the things that are very important. So, I'm sure you already know this one: English people and queuing. "Queuing" is when you stand in a line when you don't... When you want something. You don't just, like, run up there to the front or push. You queue in a line. So, we queue up at the bank, for example, or we queue up when we want to get on a bus and there's some other people already there. Now, of course, in London because there are so many people and also not everyone is English so they have their manners from where they came from, you won't always see people queuing to get on the bus or on the tube, but you do generally still see people queuing up in a shop when they need to buy something. Next we have: It's very important to bring a bottle, and that means when you go to somebody's dinner party you take a bottle of wine when you go to the meal there. If you don't want to bring a bottle of wine, you can bring dessert or you can bring some flowers or some chocolates, but the general phrase and the general idea of it is bringing a bottle, as in a bottle of wine. Next we have RSVP. This is a term that comes from French: "R�pondez s'il vous plait", and this is a much more formal invitation that you get. If you're going to something, a special event like somebody's wedding... Because weddings are really expensive and they have to be organized so long in advance, people having the wedding really want to know if you're coming. So when you RSVP to the invitation it means you're definitely going, you will be there. So once you've RSVP'd, it's very, very impolite not to go. You must go if you RSVP. Next, I think that in England it's very important to be on time. We do tend to be punctual people, attend... Attend meetings at the right time, turn up to our jobs at the right time, or meet friends at the right time, most of us. Of course, there are those people who are always late for everything, but most people in general do things on time or even, like me, I always end up being 10 minutes early. I just can't help that. So I waste a lot of time being too early. Now let's look at table manners. Some of the things in the table manners' section are changing as people become more relaxed about eating and eating out. But these were all... These are all manners that people follow in more formal situations. Perhaps at home or with your very close friends it would be different. Now, I don't mean it's different for this first one. I'm not saying it's ever acceptable anywhere to slurp, burp-I can't do a burp noise. Anyway, you know what a burp is-and fart. Fart is noise from the other end. These things are never acceptable at the dinner table. Mm-mm, mm-mm. So, no eating noises or doing that when you eat. It's not acceptable. Elbows on the table, in a formal situation you're not going to do that, but relaxed with friends a lot of people do put their elbows on the table these days, not such a big deal. Drinking before... Just drinking your drink before somebody said: "Cheers" is considered impolite, but it's also a sign of being familiar with people. If you're familiar with them you don't have to go: "Oh, cheers for this drink and opportunity to drink with you." So it depends who it is. Using a mobile in the restaurant or when you're eating socially with people is considered rude, so to be like: "Oh, hold on. Let me just take this call. I'm so important, I've got to, you know, talk business", or something is considered rude, or to be like all the time texting on your phone. Of course it happens, and young people and teenagers are definitely going to do it more than older people, but on the whole it's considered impolite.

The romantic idea that great salespeople can literally sell anything to anyone is ludicrous. If you’re a great salesperson, the first thing you want to do is make sure that what you're selling is in fact both desirable and needed by your ideal clients. You also need to make sure that your ideal clients have money that they can invest in your solution. Before we go any further, think about that right now. Is what you're selling desirable and necessary to an ideal client who would be willing to invest in it? If not, it's time to switch gears or switch organizations to make sure that what you're selling fits that criteria. For the rest of this process, we're going to assume that that's the case. I'm going to walk you through a framework to ensure that you can sell your offering to that ideal client. The Art of Selling Tip 2: Focus on challenges. It's time to focus on the challenges your prospects have. For years and years, we were taught by gurus like Tom Hopkins that our prospects should have interest. This is simply an old-school way of looking at sales. Focusing on interest is actually focusing on your offering, not on the prospect. Right? What's most critical is to understand the challenges that your prospects are facing within the domain of what your offerings can actually solve. That means starting your interactions by understanding what their most critical challenges are, from their perspective. You can start that conversation by suggesting a couple of common challenges that you're seeing in the marketplace right now. This is going to show that you have some expertise, and it's also going to engage them in a conversation around their challenges. The Art of Selling Tip 3: Understand the upside. Just understanding what's holding prospects back is great, but you also need to understand the value of solving their challenges. Because if you don't, you're likely to cause your prospect to not see the value in what you're selling. To avoid this mistake, try asking a question like, "If you were able to solve the challenges that we've discussed, what would that mean in increased revenue or profit to your organization?" Be sure to have your prospects do the math themselves, not you. I see salespeople all the time who tell the prospect what the increase in revenue will be. You don't want to give them the number. The prospects should be able to do that math themselves. It can be very simple, but it makes this so much more powerful. The Art of Selling Tip 4: Make it personal. What's in it for them? One of my mentors used to say that behind every corporate objective is a personal objective. If you don't understand what's in it for the prospects to solve their challenges, then you're missing out on a key piece of information. This is critical. Just because a challenge is costing the organization, you shouldn't then assume that it's personally important to your prospect. You need to be fully certain that these challenges are affecting your prospects in a personal way in order for them to really have the motivation to make an investment in your solution. The Art of Selling Tip 5: Get a budget. Get money on the table before showing your solution. Salespeople are always reticent to talk about money with prospects, and most of us have been taught since childhood that it's rude to talk about money. In sales, if we don't talk about money before presenting our solution, we're doing one of two things. We're either ruining the sale by blowing prospects out of the water with a price that they can't afford, or we're leaving significant money on the table by giving a price that's a lot less than what the prospect was actually willing to invest. Be sure to talk about money before you present your solution. The Art of Selling Tip 6: Determine the prospect’s authority. Determine who is part of this decision. This last piece of our sales process requires that we understand the decision-making process. We never want to assume that the person that we're talking to is the exclusive decision maker for this opportunity. Even if you're talking to the CEO of an organization, the CEO often still needs to run something by subordinates, or a board, or maybe the chairman. We need to understand what that decision-making process is before we present the solution. A simple question like, "Linda, what's your typical decision-making process for a project like this?" is going to give you tremendous insight into the prospect's actual authority.

6 Ways to Improve the ROI of Staff Meetings Ray, our COO many years ago, used to start meetings with 10-15 minutes of chit-chat. While his intention was to promote socializing, the effect was late-arrivers, difficulty in focusing at the start of serious discussion, and low energy throughout the rest of the meeting. I’ve sat through meetings in which attendees fidgeted with their devices, worked on other projects, or left the room repeatedly to take other calls. Such behavior is a career mistake for the attendee and a costly timewaster for the organization. To end the meeting torture for all involved, whether you’re a participant or meeting leader, understand the meeting process and follow the flow well enough so that you can step into the gap and demonstrate your leadership skills as you guide a productive discussion. You’ll increase your chances to end with results, not excuses. Find a Skilled Facilitator Either become that skilled facilitator, select a coworker on your staff to lead the meetings, or ask someone in another department to trade-off facilitation roles with you. You run their staff meetings and they’ll facilitate yours. Meetings don’t lead themselves; they devolve into rambling discussions. State the Problem to Be Solved Succinctly As Charles Kettering, the famed inventor and head of research for General Motors, once stated, “A problem well stated is a problem half-solved.” If no clear question or well-defined problem has been posed, consider that your challenge. State it succinctly to focus or re-focus the group’s attention. Or, possibly the meeting is about identifying the problem. If so, then that itself is the focus. Lay the Right Foundation With a Tell-All Agenda Start with the fact that you need an agenda. Yes, even for routine staff meetings. A meeting agenda is to a meeting what a foundation is to a skyscraper. The firmer, the better. State your agenda in question form, not topic form. Give a Trophy to the MVPs Announce at the beginning of an important meeting, that you plan to ask everyone to toss a name in a box as a vote for the MVP (most valuable participant)—the person who contributes in the most significant way during the meeting. If you like, you can buy their lunch for the day or a free drink. People compete not for the value of the reward—but for ego reasons. Start and End on Time No matter what. No excuses. People believe what you do, not what you say. If you train them to arrive late by inconsistent start times, they learn to arrive on time inconsistently. If your meetings run late, they’ll feel no pressure to quash extraneous comments and repetitive rambling. Stand Up People will be much briefer in their comments and pay more rapt attention when they’re standing. A stand-up meeting communicates “Let’s get this decided and done.” Meet ONLY for the Right Reasons Reconsider holding a meeting just because the calendar or clock says so. But do meet periodically to identify communication attitudes, habits, policies, and practices that no longer work—or no longer work as well as they should. Although you can get routine input many ways (email responses, surveys, phone conversations), these issues can best be handled in a real-time meeting. Brainstorming together can generate much broader thinking and deeper questions that quickly become too cumbersome to handle in other ways. In addition to what you need to update, simplify, or stop altogether, identify new opportunities and improvements. Know the Return on Your Meeting Investment If you OWN the meeting, make sure you know the cost and the expected deliverables: Only an analysis of a problem? A recommendation? A decision? Input to pass on to another group or individual? If you don’t know how much your meeting costs and you don’t know the expected meeting outcome, how will you know if and when to schedule the next staff meeting? Are you earning what you want on their time and yours?

"FORD" stands for Family, Occupation, Recreation, and Dreams. These are perfect topics for conversing with anyone, including people you don't know very well. I will give you many examples of FORD questions to ask. You can use these questions to keep a conversation going and connect with people. My name is Emma, and in today's video I am going to teach you how to be better at conversation and speaking. Okay? So, in this video I'm going to teach you about how to become better at conversation with a technique. We call the technique "F-O-R-D" or "FORD". This technique will really help you if you're shy, if when you meet people for the first time you don't know what to say, if you feel very uncomfortable at parties or in meetings or any social events. This is a great technique. Even if you're amazing at socializing, this video can still really help you even improve more than what you already can do. So let's get started. Okay, so the first thing I want to talk about is we use FORD as a way of small talk. So, what is small talk? Okay? Small talk is the type of conversation we have with people we don't know well or strangers. So, you might make small talk with your neighbours, you might make small talk with your boss, with your colleagues, maybe if you're, you know, going to a coffee shop you might make small talk with the store clerk. So, you make small talk with people you don't know well and it's just a way to make people feel comfortable in conversation and to create a connection with people. A lot of conversation is small talk. If anyone has ever talked to you about the weather, sports, you know, all sorts of different topics - these are usually small talk topics. So, again, you might make small talk at parties, in elevators, at meetings, even if you're taking English classes you will probably make small talk there as well. So, how do we get good at small talk? What do we talk about when we don't know what to talk about? Well, that's where FORD comes in. FORD is a technique which will help you know what to talk about when you really have no idea. So maybe this has been you before. Okay? Maybe this is you: "What should I talk about? Ah." Or, you know, maybe it's just a bunch of question marks. "I don't know what to say." It's totally silent. It's awkward. So, how can we fix this situation? Well, FORD stands for four things. "F" stands for "family". You can talk about family, and I'm going to give you some great questions you can use to ask about somebody's family. "O" stands for "occupation" or job. I'm going to give you some great questions about occupation that you can ask somebody you don't know well to keep the conversation going. "R" stands for "recreation", this is like hobbies, sports, movies, Netflix, TV. Okay? So I'm going to give you some great questions for hobbies or recreation. And finally, "D" stands for "dreams". This is when you ask somebody about their future goals or, you know, something they want to do. This does not... Dreams does not mean when you go to sleep, if you have some weird dream and you share it with somebody. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about your dreams in life. What are your goals? Okay? So using the FORD technique will make you better at small talk. So, now let's look at some specific questions you can ask when you're socializing with somebody who you don't know that well. Okay, so again, the "F" in FORD stands for "family". Family is a great thing to talk about, but remember to keep it light and easy. Okay? You want to talk about things people are comfortable with. So don't ask them any private questions, you know, like: "Oh, is it true so-and-so cheated on so-and-so?" No, no, no. Keep it light, simple, and easy. And also share about your own family, too. Okay? That's also very important. You don't want to sound like the FBI interrogating somebody. You want to have a conversation, so each time they say something, you can say something about yourself. So keep it kind of balanced. Okay, so one easy question you can talk about: "Where are you from originally?" Okay? "Where are you from? Are you from Toronto? Are you from Tokyo? Are you from Istanbul? Where are you from?" This question is great because you can really talk about the difference between your cities and, you know, maybe some of your experiences growing up. Similarly: "Where did you grow up?" A lot of people have moved a lot, so maybe they were born in this city, then they moved to Mexico, and then they moved here. So that's also another interesting question.

Knowing How to Tell a Good Story Is Like Having Mind Control | Alan Alda
People who are natural storytellers make it look easy, but cut to the moment you're in the hot seat—at an interview, a conference, or even in a social setting—and suddenly the suave-ness is not so forthcoming. So what is the key to telling a story that grips a crowd, and takes them emotionally from point A to point B? This has been a point of focus for actor and author Alan Alda throughout his career, and here he draws on two examples from his life: the first about a brilliant nano-scientist who couldn't get anyone to care about his breakthrough invention until he let slip that it was a total accident; and the second is a simple but astounding demonstration that involves a person carrying a glass of water across a stage. He had discovered, with his graduate student, how to make the world’s thinnest glass—it was only one atom thick. The top of it was the same atom as the bottom of it, and he called it “two-dimensional glass.” It was an amazing thing, nobody had ever found a way to make glass this thin before, and it was picked up by one scientific journal. And it seemed like a more interesting subject than one that would just get that much attention. And a couple of months later he was taking our workshop when we were up at Cornell, and in the course of talking about his discovery we realized that he had discovered how to make the world’s thinnest glass by accident. It wasn't something he was trying to do, an accident happened. And I said, "You know, this is fascinating. People like us, on the outside, in the public, it's an interesting story to us to know that something so groundbreaking, that helped you understand the structure of glass and might have new uses for glass, that you discovered such a thing by accident. What an interesting story that is." And also in the meantime he had been cited in the Guinness Book of World Records as having discovered the world's thinnest glass. So now he had two things that would interest the public. And the next time he gave an interview he started off with the story of how it had been an accident that he discovered this. This human story now led into the technical story about what was the world's thinnest glass, how was it made, and that kind of thing. It became a story that was interesting to other people who don't know the technical details with that familiarity. And now his story about discovering the glass was picked up by websites and newspapers all over America, all over Great Britain, and venture capitalists started calling him, asking him if they could commercialize this process—just starting with a human story that people on the outside of your work are interested in, because we're all human and we all think in stories. And every experiment has a story. Every life and science has a story and it's so common to hear people, when you say to them in a workshop, “Tell me your story.” They say, “Oh, I don't have a story.” Yes, you do! What's fascinating to you, when you really think about it, about how you got from here to there? And the most important thing about a story, it turns out—to me, anyway—is the obstacle that you found yourself facing as you were trying to get to your goal. The story is not, “I wanted to get to Toledo, and I went and I got there.” That's okay. It's not much of a story. The story is, “I was headed toward Toledo and the airplanes were shut down, the cars were shut down, the railroad—how was I going to get to Toledo?” That's an interesting story and I want to listen to that. If in the course of that it turns out you discovered a new way to get to Toledo, I want to hear it. The glass of water exercise is something that I figured out on the way to giving a talk. I wanted to give a talk to writers about what's the essential ingredient of a dramatic story. And I'm in the car with my wife and I said, "I don't know how to start this thing." She said, "Well, why don't you start with some image." I said, "An image, okay." So an image of a story, a dramatic story, I decided in that moment was: carrying a glass of water across the stage, filled to the brim. So when I got there I said, "Is there somebody relatively brave in the audience? Come on up. Carry this empty glass across the stage."

Such a conference may be initiated through either party, usually by the conveyance of a settlement offer; or it may be ordered by the court as a precedent (preliminary step) to holding a trial. Each party, the plaintiff and the defendant, is usually represented at the settlement conference by their own Counsel or attorney. Conferences are frequently conducted by a judge or other neutral party, in the form of a mediation. In many courts in the common law system, a case conference may be used to settle a case. In some courts, the rules require that before certain types of motions or petitions will be heard by the judge, the lawyers must "meet and confer" to try to resolve the matter. Matters discussed in a settlement conference are confidential, and cannot be introduced as evidence in court. All such information would be considered privileged or hearsay. There is one exception to this rule: statements of fact made by criminal defendants in settlement discussions over disputed civil claims asserted by government agencies are admissible in the criminal case. On December 1, 2008, the New York State Unified Court System began sending notices to borrowers in default who have high cost mortgages, whose mortgages were being foreclosed prior to September 1, 2008, offering voluntary settlement conferences. Borrowers with high cost mortgages whose mortgages entered or are entering into foreclosure from September 2008 on, will be required to attend a mandatory settlement conference prior to foreclosure proceedings. High cost loans are considered to have excessive fees, risk-based sub-prime percentage rates, negative amortizing payment options, and other features which may or may not be considered predatory lending practices. On December 15, 2009, Governor David Paterson signed into law an expanded version of the mandatory settlement conference legislation. Section 3408 of the Civil Practice Law and Rules of New York now provides that the court shall hold a mandatory settlement conference for all loans for one to four family homes within sixty days following the date proof of service is filed with the county clerk. The new law also provides that both the defendant homeowner and the plaintiff lender negotiate in good faith during their mandated settlement conference. The plaintiff lender is required to have a representative or attorney appear at the settlement conference with the authority to fully negotiate and settle the matter. The foreclosure proceedings are effectively stopped until the referee or judicial hearing officer (JHO) in the settlement conference determines that the settlement conferences are concluded, either because the parties have successfully modified the home loan or obtained some other foreclosure alternative or the referee has determined that one of the parties has not satisfied its requirements under the law. Settlement conferences do not produce formal dispositions but may facilitate loan modifications and stop foreclosure. The referee or JHO will make a recommendation to the judge overseeing the foreclosure proceedings once the settlement conference is concluded.

Business Development: How to manage your time In this video I share with you three simple tips on how to manage your time effectively. As you know being able to manage time is central to how productive you are. While there's tons of literature written on the topic of time management packed with advice, there's 3 simple steps that have worked for me and made my time management significantly better. Effective time management comes down to identifying distractions and eliminating them thus creating space for the work that really matters and more time for yourself, your family, etc. By simply applying 3 techniques and habits, you can manage time effectively doing more in less time. Here's what I've do and do myself to manage my time: 1. Keep a time log This first step is about identifying where you are losing time. For a week or two, every half hour write down exactly what you've been doing over that last half hour. When you look at your log in a week or two week's time, what you will realise is that a lot of your time goes into doing things that are not a priority or you don't need to do yourself. You will see that you are, in fact, spending much of your time in activities that can be delegated or outsourced. Keeping that log may be annoying but it is so important because it draws a pretty clear picture for you. Until you have a written record of everything you do and how much time goes into what activity, you often don't even realise how much time you are spending on tasks that are not that important or that can be easily done by someone else. Don't be afraid to delegate once you identify those areas! 2. Identify the interruptions Apart from activities that could be handed over to somebody else, the time log will also help you identify the endless distractions that I'm sure interrupt your day Things such as phone calls, email alerts, people coming in or incoming calls disrupt your flow and compromise your focus. You may well be aware of what these interruptions are already but the log will help you see just how intense they are. When you have it in black and white, then it becomes clear how much time gets wasted in things that don't require your immeddiate attention. Thus, you can work out a system or get into habits (such as locking yourself away for a certain period of the day, close your email, etc.) to cut out those distractions. You will find that if you eliminate even just half of them, you will be much more productive. 3. Arrange your meetings back-to-back Why do I want to draw your attention to meetings in particular? Well, if you are a business owner or almost any type of professional, meetings certainly are an important part of your weekly agenda. They are essential to your business from a business growth perspective to say the least so they are key. However, meetings can also disrupt your working process greatly. What many professionals normally do is, if they have more than one meeting in a day, they would leave time some between meetings. Normally that's at least 15 minutes. The problem with that is, the time you actually have between your meetings is not enough to get stuck back properly and actually be productive. And let's not forget the time you spend thinking about a meeting before it takes place or discussing it afterwards. You end up spending much more time in doing nothing productive than just the meeting itself. That's why, it is better to have meetings back-to-back without leaving time between them. Also, avoid spreading meetings out in the week. It's better to have them zoned into one or two days as they break up your day and there's a lot of time wasted around them. If you follow these 3 simple techniques you will be able to manage time effectively. You will identify what parts of your activities can be outsourced or delegated and what you can do to eliminate disruptions and consequently have more time to focus on what creates value for your business. All you need to do is tap and hold on a chat and then click on three vertical dots on the top right of your screen and choose Add Conversation Shortcut. - Just say “Hey, Siri, send a WhatsApp to” and name the contact needed. - If you like to read old messages and get nostalgic from time to time, you can always back your history up on iCloud (for iPhone users) or Google Drive (for Android). If you have an iPhone and you want to back up a certain chat, just click on its name, then on the name of the contact and you'll see an option E-mail conversation. - If you want to express your feelings for someone in a whole other dimension, just send a red heart alone without any other emojis or words. You may think it's nothing much, but amazingly enough, it turns into a big beating heart. - For iOS users, there is a simple solution. Just double tap on a message and select the star icon. - When you receive a message don't open it right away and dismiss all the notifications. Looking for a drill that will enhance your training when shooting from behind cover? In today's Tactical Tuesday, the USCCA will be teaching Daily Rants star Graham Allen how to shoot from behind cover with minimal exposure when engaging a deadly threat. First, stand behind the barricade, leaning out just enough to take aim, centering yourself, and your sights. The threat should only be able to visibly see your shoulder on your firing side, your eye, and the barrel of your gun, giving the threat minimal target opportunity. When done, always finish with a quick scan. It is often natural for many of us to get up close behind a barricade and hide. What many of us don't realize is that a potential threat could also be behind the barricade giving them the opportunity to take your gun away from you. When this happens, you need to make changes. Video Transcript Find out what a mattress on a car roof has to do with productivity. Can your processes grow with your organization? Let me give me an example. It has to do with a mattress. Imagine that a college student suddenly has to move. Most of the possessions can go into the trunk of a car but the mattress, too big for the trunk. What do you do? You put the mattress on the roof of the car. You and some buddies tie it down with some string, you'll drive along with your hand out holding the mattress in place. This could work if it’s a short distance traveled at low speeds. If you’re doing a lot of start, stop driving, higher speeds, further distance... that mattress may not stay on the car roof that long. You could have problems. Same thing can apply to your processes. What worked at one point in time, may not scale up as your company grows. Let me give you an example. Let’s say every day, you would write thank you notes to your customers. Great idea. However, if the number of customers you have quadruples, you’re spending a lot of time on those thank you notes. Maybe more time than you can afford. In this case, you want to modify the process. You print up a special thank you card, where you can just write in one or two little details to give it a little personalization. You're still doing the process but you’ve improved so it works for your schedule and works for your time. You have to scale processes and make sure they still work. The headlines were smug and the Twitterati of newly born left wing militarist war mongers were resplendent with calls for martial law or protests or anything that could stop Donald Trump, an obvious traitor against America -- a revolting person of low qualities who enjoys to be urinated upon by Russian hookers. The only problem with that narrative, as touching as it may seem, is that it's completely false. According to Trump's press secretary, it's all fake news. Here is what Bloomberg peddled for news yesterday. Donald Trump’s advisers have told U.K. officials that the incoming president’s first foreign trip will be a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, potentially in Reykjavik within weeks of taking office, the Sunday Times reported. Trump plans to begin working on a deal to limit nuclear weapons, the newspaper said, without providing details. It cited an unidentified source for the summit plans, and added that Moscow is ready to agree to the meeting, based on comments from officials at the Russian embassy in London. The paper, citing an unidentified adviser to Trump, told the Times that the president-elect, who will be sworn in on Jan. 20, will meet with Putin at a neutral venue “very soon.” In eyeing Iceland’s capital, Trump’s team may be hoping to recreate the optics of a Reagan-era nuclear agreement. Former President Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, then general secretary of the Soviet Union’s Communist Party, held a two-day summit in Reykjavik in October 1986 to work on what eventually became a major nuclear disarmament treaty between the two superpowers in 1987. Trump’s transition team didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Did the media just make up this story out of thin air in an attempt to further deride Trump?
