People Buy Feelings, Not Things | Tony Robbins Business Mastery
HOW EMOTIONS INFLUENCE PURCHASING DECISIONS What kind of car do you own? What kind of purse do you carry? What is your favorite brand of clothing? Why? While product quality and seller reputation matter, the reason we make a purchase goes far beyond the fundamentals. It goes far beyond rational thought. It goes into the subconscious. In fact, research by the Nielsen Company shows that roughly 90% of purchasing decisions are made subconsciously. And further studies have revealed that while our brains process 11 million bits of sensory information every second, our conscious minds can only handle less than 100 per second. So how does our subconscious determine our decisions? It comes down to our needs and emotions. Each and every one of us is unique, but we also share six fundamental needs — certainty, significance, variety, love and connection, growth, contribution — that determine how we feel about ourselves, how we feel about others, and how we experience life. And all behavior, including our purchasing decisions, is an attempt to meet our needs. That $1000 purse you just bought? That $100,000 car you just leased? The $500 jacket you just got? Each of these items can bring an individual significance. In fact, people will pay disproportionately to feel significant. And this can be true even if the purchase is gift for someone else. Because they subconsciously believe that giving someone a gift will get them attention, appreciation or even love, which ultimately means one thing — significance. More than this, individuals buy products that they associate with their identity. That electric car you just purchased? You may think it represents someone who is a cool, environmentally-minded, socially conscious, do-gooder. Or that satchel you just purchased from a local craftsman from a village abroad? It may represent someone who is eclectic, worldly and open-minded. The driving force in life is a need to be fulfilled, and our purchasing decisions are a direct manifestation of this need. How to Remain Calm - Tips for Staying Calm
How to Remain Calm // How to Stay Calm In today's video I'll be discussing a basic strategy that I use when it comes to how to remain calm. It's one of my favourite tips for staying calm. Learning how to remain calm in any situation is a vital skill that can help us achieve more in our lives. Many of us like to believe that we can simply hide away from life's challenges or obstacles, but this only results in stagnation and lack of progress. So by learning how to remain calm during adversity, we can move forward towards our goals rather than getting stuck in one place. How to remain calm & Why is the ability to remain calm important: Me personally, I have had issues with social anxiety for a large portion of my life. Most social situations will cause me some degree of anxiety, whether it's a phone call, public speaking, meeting some new, or just holding a conversation. If that anxiety is left unchecked, it can cause me to get distracted from what I'm doing, or even avoid such situations altogether. So it was important for me to learn how to remain calm, even under pressure, stress, or suffering from anxiety. How to Stay calm // How to Remain Calm - The Basics: When learning how to stay calm, the first thing to keep in mind is that you have some degree of control over how you reaction to a given situation. While you may not be able to prevent anxiety or nerves from taking effect, you can certainly lessen the overall effect they have on you. This is why one of the best strategies for how to remain calm is simply to pay attention to your breathing, and begin to breathe in a deep and controlled manner. Taking control over your breath, will help slow down your heart rate, relax you, and is a crucial step in learning how to stay calm. This really helps us with how to be calm under pressure because not only are we taking back control of our breathing and heart rate, but we're also distracting ourself from anything unpleasant that we may be experiencing. Even if you are experiencing anxiety for example, if your attention is elsewhere, then it will be easier for you to remain calm. This one simple step makes all the difference in learning how to remain calm. Now you understand how to remain calm even under pressure or when things aren't going your way. The tricky part is sometimes actually remembering to do this when you experience anything negative, and so my suggestion is to teach yourself gradually. Every time you actively notice yourself feeling stressed or anxious, remind yourself to breathe in a controlled manner. That's it, with this one step you've learned how to remain calm, or at least as calm as possible, during those tough situations --- Thank you for watching! If you found this video helpful, and have other friends or family members who may find this tip useful, then share this video on how to remain calm with them, so they can learn how to stay calm in their day to day lives. If you liked this video about how to remain calm then subscribe to my channel for more self-development tips and techniques. I discuss a wide range of things on my channel, from fitness and health, to success and productivity, to mastering your mind, to more spiritual and esoteric subjects. --- If you would like to book a private consultation with me where you can get detailed answers and help on any subject, via text, audio, or video format depending on your preferences, then send me a private YouTube message by heading to my channel page, clicking "About", then clicking "Send Message" in the top right. How a chance meeting at UPW became the journey of a lifetime. | Tony Robbins
From Saving Souls to finding soulmates For more information about UPW visit: https://www.tonyrobbins.com/events/unleash-the-power-within/ Tony Javier's main goal was finding the perfect relationship and elevating his life through the partnership of marriage. But, beyond just trading jokes with his friends, Tony actually believed all the good women around him were taken. As a believer in a proactive, positive approach to achieving goals in life, he listed all the qualities he truly wanted in the woman who would share his life. Tony attended UPW to experience personal transformation and work on improving himself, but what happened next felt like a moment straight out of a dream. As Chantal Fournier walked into UPW with her friends, she knew her entire world was about to change, but she never would have dreamed how much. Her group instinctually chose seats near Tony and his friends — even felt "drawn to sit there," as Chantal herself explains. She and Tony were soon interacting through group exercises and the two naturally decided to become partners through all four days of the event. Over the course of the next several days, Tony and Chantal became acquainted on a personal and spiritual level. After the final day of UPW, they both felt certain they couldn't just let this connection go. The two started dating long-distance and took the time to deepen their understanding of one another, but it was Chantal who finally took massive and determined action to take their relationship to the next level. IT FELT LIKE DESTINY They immediately felt a natural and healthy attraction based on personality, shared goals and outlook. After a year of calls, chats and visits, she sold all her belongings, quit her career of eight years and emigrated, all the way from Canada, to pursue what she knew would become central to everything she wanted in her life. Tony describes their connection as a "mirror image," two people who complement each other so incredibly well. He credits their shared experience at UPW as the true catalyst, sparking and igniting their connection in a way that wouldn't have occurred if they'd only met casually. Through the exercises and explorations during the event, Tony Robbins created an unparalleled atmosphere and opportunity to not only discover their true inner passion and compel personal transformation, but to authentically reveal themselves to each other in an open, nurturing and nonjudgmental environment. REAL WORK, REAL REWARDS They were both able to overcome their deep-seated fears and reservations built up from past relationships. Together, utilizing what they'd learned and practiced they got out of their comfort zones to break through limiting beliefs about personal expectations and the demands of a truly successful marriage. Two years later, Tony and Chantal are happily married, continuously sharing, growing and building the life they desire and deserve, together. They still tell everyone the remarkable story of how they first met, but perhaps the most incredible journey is still ahead, as they evolve, change and transform in parallel. No relationship is perfect, but what Tony and Chantal experienced and directly learned from Tony Robbins will empower them to create the life together they always dreamed could be possible. Unleash the Power Within — with Tony Robbins live — is coming to Palm Beach, FL, March 10-13, 2016. If you can believe it, you can become it. First you must do it! Is Less Always More? 4 Simplicity Tips | Lisa Bodell
Simplicity is essential to doing your best, most meaningful work. Discover how to simplify the crush of emails in your inbox and meetings on your schedule with these four guidelines. Bodell's latest book is "Why Simple Wins" (https://goo.gl/alSEko). Read more at BigThink.com: http://bigthink.com/videos/lisa-bodell-on-the-benefits-and-definition-of-simplicity Follow Big Think here: YouTube: http://goo.gl/CPTsV5 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BigThinkdotcom Twitter: https://twitter.com/bigthink Transcript - Everyone says that they want to innovate but then myself and my teams would go into companies and the very people that hired us to come in and help them innovate were the very people that were holding us back from doing it when we got there. And I thought why? And it was this whole idea of risk, fear, power, control, risk aversion. And I started to ask everybody that I met a very simple question to get at the problem of why people were not able to innovate the way that they should. Here was the question: I asked them what do you spend your day doing? And do you know what the answer was? I wasn't surprised by the uniqueness of the answer, I was surprised by the absolute consistency of it. So if I talked to let's say 100,000 people a year across all different countries, companies, industries, levels within the organization and I asked them what did they spend their day doing? Do you know what they say? Meetings and emails. Now, I believe that people get up everyday to do meaningful things. I don't have a single friend that wakes up, looks at their inbox and feels extra popular because they have more people that have contacted them. People don't want to spend their day doing that, they want to work on work that matters. So I think that getting to work that is simpler and eliminating those complexities or mundane tasks are not just going to make people more productive at work but they're going to be more satisfied, they're going to have a sense of purpose and our businesses, the results that we have there, are going to be dramatically better because of it. 8 Signs To Know If He Is Cheating You
To learn more about the 8 Signs To Know If He Is Cheating You, CLICK HERE: https://www.togetaboyfriend.com/why-men-lose-interest/ Sometimes the truth is in front of your nose, but prefer not to look. Pay attention to these points and find out if he is cheating. One of the worst pains that a woman may feel, is the broken heart. Even more so when the reason is infidelity on the part of who you considered was the love of your life. Sometimes you discover your partner after years of betrayal, exacerbating the pain and making you suffer even more. The question is inevitable; How I did not realize it before? Simple, it is that you were not careful. Generally, men are usually very obvious and basic in their actions, so you just need to put a little attention to their behavior to find out if they are dating other people. Then we'll show you 7 Signs To Know If He Is Cheating You. Good luck! 1. He gives you independence. When the weekend comes, he insists that go out with your friends. This case is unique, because if your partner always encouraged you to spend time with your friends, you should not worry. But if suddenly he's starting not to like going out with you and motivates you to do it alone and leaving him alone, it means that something is not right. 2. Little patience. When you ask him who he was with last night, or who is calling, and reacts badly, it is a worrying sign. He who does nothing fears nothing, then does not have to get irritated because you are not asking anything wrong. 3. Hides the phone. The cell rings, WhatsApp, or mail, and simply rushes to pick it up to answer it away from you. Sometimes it is normal to happen, but when he starts putting passwords and answering mysterious calls, means you must pay attention and try to find out whether it is a third person. 4. Unjustified expenses. If you notice that he goes shopping often, and doesn't get you anything, or if you have access to his account and notice he purchases female things that were not for you or his mother, you may be in a risky situation. Ask him when you have doubt, and if he doesn't know how to justify the expense, it means that something is hiding. 5. Night shower. Taking a bath after work is common in men and women. But if he often gets home late, and before saying hello and holding you, he quickly goes to the bathroom to take a shower, it's something you should worry about. It is not that always means infidelity, but you must be alert at all times. 6. Plans with "friends". He always has something to do; meetings, birthdays, soccer games or meetings. The worst part of the situation is that you can never go because it is exclusively for males. Sometimes men need their space, but if going out alone becomes a habit, is a cause for concern. 7. Tired of intimacy. It is not common for a man to avoid sex. It is normal if it happens two or three times, but when it becomes usual to avoid you in bed, is a sign that something is wrong. If he constantly says things like he is tired, discouraged, or busy, there may be an undertone in the situation. Better not neglect your relationship and be attentive to any attitude that worries you. 8. Sudden change of look. If you suddenly note that overnight, he began to worry about his physical appearance markedly, since he enrolled at the gym, bought more youthful clothes, he gets perfumed every time that goes out, and began to eat a more healthy diet to get in better shape, we recommend you to be alert. It may be that your partner does it just to feel better, but often these situations end in infidelities. Are you afraid to approach someone you find attractive or speak up more boldly in work meetings or disagree with someone assertively when necessary? Today we’re going to discuss one powerful technique that will have you experiencing increased confidence in multiple areas of your life. To begin with, imagine one change you could make in your life that you know would make you infinitely happier. Maybe becoming more assertive at work would make you happier . . . maybe conversing with women more freely would make you happier. Whatever it is, imagine this one change you could make to your life to drastically improve your outlook—now ask yourself what’s holding you back from doing that thing. Most of us instinctively know what we could be doing to make ourselves happier. The path to joy is right in front of us, but we hold ourselves back because we have created images in our minds of the bad things that might happen to us as a result of bold action. When we are scared, we do whatever it takes to keep ourselves safe from awkwardness and pain. For most of us, fear is an excuse to start imagining negative projections of reality. In that way, we are telling ourselves it’s sensible not to act, less we expose ourselves to potential defeat. For me, the negative projection was failure at approaching women—I’d imagine the disgusted faces they might make if I introduced myself, or I’d see them laughing at me and walking away like it was some kind of joke.] To read more, go here: http://socialconfidencecenter.com/updates/secret-fast-confidence-test-reality-2/ Want to truly take charge of your confidence and your life? May your time spent here be blessed. http://vid.io/x3F Leonard Ravenhill - Flesh Keeps us from Praying (Christian audio book) Matthew 26:41King James Version (KJV) 41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Leonard Ravenhill Playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL98DA7555F2E1729D Link to my "Christian Devotional Readings" Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Christian-Devotional-Readings/196846270398160?ref=hl Leonard Ravenhill (1907--1994) was an English Christian evangelist and author who focused on the subjects of prayer and revival. He is best known for challenging the modern church (through his books and sermons) to compare itself to the early Christian Church as chronicled in the Book of Acts. His most notable book is Why Revival Tarries which has sold over a million copies worldwide. Born in Leeds, in Yorkshire, England, Ravenhill was educated at Cliff College in England and sat under the ministry of Samuel Chadwick. He was a student of church history, with a particular interest in Christian revival. His evangelistic meetings during the Second World War drew large crowds. Many converts devoted themselves to Christian ministry and foreign missions. In 1939, he married an Irish nurse, Martha. The Ravenhills had three sons: Paul, David, and Philip. Paul and David are Christian ministers, and Philip is a teacher. In 1950, Ravenhill and his family moved from Great Britain to the United States. In the 1960s they traveled within the United States, holding tent revivals and evangelistic meetings. In the 1980s, Ravenhill moved to a home near Lindale, Texas, a short distance from Last Days Ministries Ranch. He regularly taught classes at LDM and was a mentor to the late Keith Green. He also spent some time teaching at Bethany College of Missions in Minnesota, and some time in Seguin, Texas. Among others influenced by Ravenhill were Ray Comfort, Ravi Zacharias, Tommy Tenney, Steve Hill, Charles Stanley, Bill Gothard, Paul Washer, and David Wilkerson. He was a close friend of pastor and writer A. W. Tozer. Through his teaching and books, Ravenhill addressed the disparities he perceived between the New Testament Church and the Church in his time and called for adherence to the principles of biblical revival. Tozer said of Ravenhill: "To such men as this, the church owes a debt too heavy to pay. The curious thing is that she seldom tries to pay him while he lives. Rather, the next generation builds his sepulchre and writes his biography -- as if instinctively and awkwardly to discharge an obligation the previous generation to a large extent ignored." Gravesite at Garden Valley Cemetery Ravenhill died in November 1994 and is interred at Garden Valley Cemetery in Garden Valley, Texas, near the grave of Contemporary Christian music artist Keith Green. In 2011 Free Grace Press published a full biography of Leonard Ravenhill written by Mack Tomlinson titled, "In Light of Eternity. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "A Call to Separation - A. W. If you enjoy our channel, pass it along, we keep what we have by giving it away. Keep coming back! Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an international mutual aid fellowship founded in 1935 by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith in Akron, Ohio. AA states that its primary purpose is "to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety". With other early members Wilson and Smith developed AA's Twelve Step program of spiritual and character development. AA's Twelve Traditions introduced in 1946 to help be stable and unified while disengaged from "outside issues" and influences. The Traditions recommend that members and groups remain anonymous in public media, altruistically help other alcoholics, avoiding affiliations with any other organization. The Traditions also recommend that those representing AA steer clear of dogma and coercive hierarchies. Subsequent fellowships such as Narcotics Anonymous have adopted and adapted the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions to their respective primary purposes. AA has no opinion on the medical nature of alcoholism; nonetheless AA is regarded as a proponent and popularizer of the disease theory of alcoholism. AA is credited with helping many alcoholics achieve and maintain sobriety. The American Psychiatric Association has recommended sustained treatment in conjunction with AA's program, or similar community resources, for chronic alcoholics unresponsive to brief treatment. AA's data show that 36% are still attending AA a year after their first meetings. The first female member, Florence Rankin, joined AA in March 1937, and the first non-Protestant member, a Roman Catholic, joined in 1939. AA membership has since spread "across diverse cultures holding different beliefs and values", including geopolitical areas resistant to grassroot movements. In the Fourth Edition of Alcoholics Anonymous (November 2001) it states "Since the third edition was published in 1976, worldwide membership of AA has just about doubled, to an estimated two million or more..." AA's name is derived from its first book, informally called "The Big Book", originally titled Alcoholics Anonymous: The Story of How More Than One Hundred Men Have Recovered From Alcoholism. http://www.aa.org

Cutting Down on Call-Offs in Your Clinic - Your Practice Ain't Perfect - Joe Mull
In this episode of Your Practice Ain’t Perfect we’re talking about Cutting Down on Call-Offs. Joe Mull, M.Ed is a practice manager leadership trainer and keynote speaker who works with healthcare organizations that want their practice leaders to engage, inspire, and succeed. As an expert in employee engagement and healthcare leadership development, Joe gives physicians and managers the skills and tools they need to engineer teams that work hard, get along, and wow patients. After more than a decade in healthcare, Joe knows that when leaders develop skills related to leadership, communication, and teambuilding, they can stop putting fires out every day and prevent them from sparking in the first place. Bring Joe in to keynote your conference, design and facilitate a retreat, or beef up your practice leader training. For more info or to book Joe now visit www.joemull.com. Transcript: I get to travel the country delivering training to practice leaders like you and without a doubt, one of the people management problems I hear about the most is CALL-OFFS! You and I both know that when your clinic is short staffed, patients wait longer, docs get cranky, and staff get snippy. Nobody ends up having a good day! But if you scour the internet looking help on how to cut down on call-offs, everything you’ll find is about process or policy. What about figuring out how to get team members to hesitate? To see calling off as a last resort? Hi folks, Joe Mull here, and in this episode of Your Practice Ain’t Perfect we’re talking about Cutting Down on Call-Offs. Stick around… Look, call offs are going to happen. People get sick, and so do their kids. Or their basement floods and they need to wait for an emergency plumber. Life happens and if you can’t have compassion for that and accommodate it from time to time then you’re doing this wrong. But if your team is abusing the privilege or you have some habitual offenders on your hands, then I’ve got 3 strategies for cutting down on call-offs in your clinic. NUMBER ONE:Get creative with accountability. Call-offs make things tougher on EVERYONE in your clinic, so come up with ways to involve others if call-offs are a problem. For example, I know of one practice where, after calling off, the employee must present their reason for the absence to the entire staff who then vote on whether to count it as an excused absence. Or here’s another idea: get your docs involved. One of my clients requires employees to call the physicians themselves to call off. And it’s helped cut down on no-shows. At the very least: NO MORE TEXTING! Use a phone tree and require that the employee calling off speaks with you or another leader directly to call off. Allowing people to text or leave voicemails eliminates the uncomfortable conversation, making a call-off way too easy. MY SECOND SUGGESTION IS TO:Assess and cultivate engagement. Employees who feel valued, needed, and challenged don’t call off. Staff members who are bored, unhappy, or micromanaged do. Research tells us there are a handful of conditions that lead employees to give their all and care and try. They include helping employees use their strengths every day, giving them influence at work, nurturing relationships between teammates, and much more. If you aren’t working daily to create these conditions there’s a good chance your team is just going through the motions, doing the minimum…and calling off. If you want more help in this area, you can get TONS of tactics, activities, and engagement strategies in my book Cure for the Common Leader: What Physicians & Managers Must Do to Engage & Inspire Healthcare Teams¸ which is available on Amazon. LAST BUT NOT LEAST:Campaign for a call-off cut-down. Start talking with your team regularly about cutting down on call-offs, and frequently highlight all the ways doing so benefits them. Do this OFTEN and along the way get creative and make it fun. Try picking a magic number of call-offs per month and challenge the whole team to collectively stay under that number. Keep a running tally posted in the break room, next to a picture or sign announcing a staff lunch or some other prize for meeting the challenge. Team members will start holding each other accountable and taking ownership of keeping call offs to a minimum. So there you have it: Get creative with accountability, Assess and cultivate engagement, and Campaign for a Call-Off cut down. MTO Motor Vehicle Inspection Regulations
Bob Lickers of the Ministry of Transportation has been criss-crossing the province since mid-March providing information on changes taking effect July 1st to Ontario’s light duty passenger vehicle inspection rules. At these meetings, which have been organized by the Automotive Aftermarket Retailers of Ontario (AARO), Bob has presented the changes in a non-technical and entertaining way. Knowing that many members would not be able to attend a local meeting, and with the permission of MTO, the UCDA recorded a meeting held in Toronto on May 26, and we’re pleased to make it available to view here…. It will also make a great refresher for anyone who did attend a meeting and wants to review parts of it again. The UCDA is grateful to both MTO and AARO for their efforts in holding these meetings. Ten iOS 10 Performance and Battery Saving Tips
http://appletoolbox.com/2016/09/slow-iphone-battery-issues-ios-10/ Check out our website http://www.appletoolbox.com for advice on all things Apple. hey, guys, this is Rex with Apple Toolbox and in this video, I’m going through 10 performance and battery saving tips for iOS 10 if you’re using an older model iPhone updating to the newest software can sometimes cause performance and battery issues of course even if you’re planning to upgrade to the new iPhone 7 or 7 plus these tips will be helpful too so first for a few performance tips there may not be a better tip for speeding up your iPhone than freeing up space if the storage on your device is filled up it will cause your iPhone to run slower there are plenty of options to clear things up but here are a few of the best first off you can go to settings general storage and I Cloud usage and then manage storage here you can see which apps are taking up the most space that how much storage space is left photos and videos you’ve captured on your iPhone are usually the largest storage hogs go to settings then scroll down to photos and make sure you have optimized iPhone storage turned on this will keep your iPhone from filling up with photos and videos some phone apps and games can take up lots of storage space as well so if you have apps and games you never use it’s a good the idea to delete them off your iPhone and an iOS 10 you can even delete those pesky built-in apps like weather compass stocks calendar and so on that you never use iOS 10 has a lot of fancy animations which older iPhone models can have the trouble with and cause some lag you can easily turn these off in the settings app by going to General accessibility then tap on reduce motion and turn the feature on turning reduce motion on stop certain kinds of you I animations from eating up unnecessary resources that can slow down your iPhone now these next few tips will help with both speed and battery usage next up is disabling location services depending on how many apps you have actively checking your location this can be a shot in the arm for your phone’s battery life you can find this option by going to the Settings app scrolling down to the privacy section and then to location services to completely disable location services simply toggle the switch off if you depend on certain apps to provide you location data you can always go through this one by one and turn off location services individually select the apps you don’t want tracking your location and then select some iPhone apps are infamous for draining the battery in the background so it’s nice to have their background activity turned off however many apps you may depend on decision notifications or provide data will be disabled when the background app refresh is turned off for example you may use a third-party calendar app if low power mode is turned on you will not receive any notifications from that app informing you of your next meetings thankfully you can manually turn off background refresh for only certain apps to do this go to settings general then background app refresh and here you have the option to disable all background activity or turn off only those which you don’t need Apple has slid a really useful new battery saving feature into iOS 10 label battery life suggestions the feature suggests ways that you can maximize your iPhone battery usage it will appear automatically in the battery section of the Settings app to get there hit the Settings app and then scroll down to battery now suggestions vary depending on your usage patterns and your iPhone’s current settings for example if you have the brightness cranked all the way up chances are you will get a recommendation to reduce your iPhone’s brightness as you can see these get listed below the new battery life suggestions heading the feature is pretty straightforward and it’s a nice way to see some ways you can reduce battery usage specifically tailored to your individual device of the course just below the new battery life suggestions feature is the usage utility that shows you exactly which apps and services are using the most battery if you tap on the clock icon you can see exactly how much time each app has been active on screen and in the background you can also switch back and forth between the last 24 hours of battery usage and the last 7 days if I notice my battery life isn’t holding up as well as usual this is the first place I go usually, I’ll find an app that’s been in use in the background that I wasn’t aware of to give you anexample the Facebook app is notorious for acting up in the background, if you notice an app like that would say four percent on screen and forty percent background time it’s a sign something has gone wrong if you notice this you can force quit the rogue app from the app switcher and this should get your power consumption back to normal now

Kaamelott Livre III - Tome 1 / [ENG SUB]
How to Deal with Professional Guilt and Shame
If you are human you have likely experienced some regretful experiences at work. Moments in time when you were not being your best professional self. Meetings that you could have led better. Conversations that you could have handled better. Emotionally charged situations that you could have navigated better etc... Depending on your sensitivity, some of these experiences may have been easy to address directly. Some you might have chosen to shake off. Others were stickier still and may have wiped out your productivity for a few hours. The worst experiences though, most of us deny and bury into our subconscious. Especially the ones that make us look bad so we decide we need to hide from the light. The problem with suppressing these emotions is that they come back to bite us in sneaky ways. In the form of avoiding situations or people, in irrational decisions, in unsubstantiated biases - basically ways that can seem subtle but over time erode our leadership. This is why I was so drawn to Brene Brown's work in her book the "Gifts of Imperfection" http://www.linkedin.com/in/brenebrown You see in executive coaching I work with my clients to maximize their ability to remain in what my coaching training calls "a resourceful mindset". Which basically means they are able to maintain a "positive, can do" attitude in the face of obstacles. When leaders are in a resourceful mindset they are unstoppable in achieving their goals. They have access to their creativity, a high degree of motivation and collaborative tendencies. I work with my clients to master the ability to remain resourceful no matter what environment or other's triggers in them. What clicked for me is that guilt and shame are often at the root of an un-resourceful mindset, thus impacting our ability to perform at our best at work. Brene Brown's work describes 3 critical elements: 1) Clear differentiation between guilt and shame 2) Effective treatment for both 3) Compelling case for timely action Today's video self-coaching tip covers how to tell the difference between guilt and shame, and how to treat it. Have a watch and try it on a specific situation where you feel un-resourceful or disappointed in an outcome or behaviour. Once you learn how to deal with your professional work and shame quickly and effectively - you can get back to being unstoppable. Please like, comment or share if you know someone that might benefit from this tip. 3 Things All New Leaders Should Focus On
► ► Subscribe to My Channel Here https://www.youtube.com/c/CameronMorrissey Transcript: One of the big questions I get asked most routinely is from new leaders who are asking where it is that they should start? And so every brand new leader that is out there, whether you are coming in from a different organization into a new organization, or you’ve been promoted up through the ranks. There are three things that you should focus on right off the bat. The first is actually to listen. You need to listen. Every great leader listens to those around them, their people, their customers, etc, but it’s most important for those that are brand new in a leadership position. The reason is that you need to learn. Even if you’ve come from a similar position outside into a leadership position in a new organization, you need to learn the lay of the land. For those that have risen through the ranks, and are brand new to a leadership position, you need to listen and understand your new position. You need to listen to your boss so that you understand what the expectations are, you need to listen to your peers so that you understand where the struggles are and what the different inter-departmental issues are that you might need to face. And the third people you need to listen to are your employees. You are now in a position where you are working for them. And I know that kind of “flips the script” a little bit for most people, but you are absolutely working for your employees. Their success has a direct reflection on your success. So you need to listen to them to understand what it is that they need, what struggles they are facing, what ideas that they have. But the first thing to do in a new leadership position is to learn. You need to learn, and the best way to do that is from listening. The second thing you need to focus on is PRIORITIZING. Everybody has way too much on their plate in this day and age. You have too much on your plate, your employees have too much on their plate. And the last thing you want to be is, you don’t want to be that leader that sits there and goes, “You know what, it all needs to be done, and it all needs to be done today.” That’s not prioritizing, that’s not helping anybody. And so, what you want to do is you may have five things that need to get done today, but you need to tell your employee what order those need to be done in, because a) it gives them the confidence to move forward and finish things that they started, and in the event that new priorities come in, time runs out, that sort of thing, you’ve handled the top 2, 3 items that are on your list so you can go ahead and take on a new priority that’s a higher priority item than numbers 4 and 5 were. But prioritizing is a key that all leaders need to get in the habit of doing so that their team can confidently move forward throughout the course of their day. The third thing that you need to do is you need to DELEGATE. It is the most difficult thing for new leaders to do is to delegate. You are now working through your team. Your individual efforts are not necessarily what you will be graded on, if you will, by your boss. You need to work through your team and support your team. You need to get started on that right away, and practice that as much as possible. Now the topic is broad, I mean there are whole books written on the topic of delegating. But I wanted to introduce you to a quick concept that’ll help you out, and that’s “I DO”, “WE DO”, and “YOU DO”. Delegating isn’t just about telling somebody, “Hey go do this.” It’s about telling them to go do that, but having the confidence in yourself that they’re gonna do it exactly the way you want to do it. So the first thing that you want to do is make sure that you have a mastery of it, the “I DO” is making sure that you understand everything that goes into the task that you’re asking them to work on. The second part is actually bringing them in and working on it together, the “WE DO” part of it. So that they can see how it is that you do it and how you want it done. They may have a completely different picture of how they want to have that particular task done. So seeing you and working with you through it helps them accomplish what you want to have accomplished. And then you get to the “YOU DO” part, which is having them take it on. That is effective delegation. So the three things that new leaders need to focus on. LISTEN, PRIORITIZE and DELEGATE and you’ll be well on your way to success. Have a good one.

What are the most common things holding agents back from success? In this week’s show, Matt and Greg tackle lack of money, lack of leads and lack of knowledge, and they provide actionable tips to help ambitious agents overcome them. Takeaways + Tactics Anything that requires an investment of time will give the impression that you are active and everywhere all the time. That gives a perception of expertise, competence and activity. Lack of knowledge isn’t a problem because there’s so much knowledge out there. What agents face is the lack of clarity of not knowing which course of action to take. Stop comparing yourself to top producers with big budgets and more relationships. You are just where you need to be, so go and be entrepreneurial! Wealth is attracted to people who show up on time, so show up on the dot and show up prepared. Matt Johnson Matt adds some tips about things that won’t cost money but will bring success. Positioning. It’s free, set yourself up as an expert in a specific neighborhood, price range or niche and start blogging. Punctuality: “Wealth is attracted to people who show up on time.” Make sure you get to meetings on time, informed and prepared. Greg adds “if you’re early you’re on time, if you’re on time you’re late and if you’re late don’t show up at all.” Follow up Matt adds a bonus note. He says lack of money and lack of leads are tied together. If you want more clients there are free ways to build relationships. Think of how you can build more relationships. Remember that top producers have more relationships and are better at starting new relationships and nurturing them. A listener pops in a question about order of necessity in terms of what one should spend money on. Greg and Matt agree that it’s 1. Website 2. Paid lead generation 3. Video and email 4. Facebook marketing Next, the co-hosts move onto leads, ideally, someone who wants to buy or sell a home in the next 6 months. Matt reiterates the importance of focusing on building relationships, that’s how you’ll get referrals. The intention should be to build relationships and train those people to get you referrals. Matt points out that being active on social media isn’t just about finding leads, it’s about showing your expertise and productivity. “Anything that requires an investment of time will give the impression that you are active and everywhere all the time. That gives a perception of expertise, competence and activity.” One you’ve crossed the bridge of competence and activity, the only question left to answer is whether you’re the right fit, so being active gets you much closer to getting a solid lead. When it comes to achieving success, it’s all about positioning - putting yourself in the right place at the right time for it to locate you. Positioning is about making yourself attractive to success by showing up on time, always attending meetings prepared and enriching yourself with he knowledge that gets you ahead of the pack. Positioning is also about being clear about who want to attract and repel, building relationships through the people you already know and choosing a course of action decisively. Empower yourself by filling gaps in your day with the knowledge that will change your business! How To Start Your Week Off Right - Motivational Video
How To Start Your Week Off Right - Motivational Video: https://youtu.be/7bdouL3czYI Follow me on : Facebook: https://facebook.com/benmotivate Twitter: https://facebook.com/benmotivate Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/benmotivate Stress. We've all dealt with it, some better than others. But when it comes to Mondays, it seems like this unfortunate emotion is more visible than on other days. So instead of avoiding it or letting it build up, let's take a look at five ways to deal with the terrible tension. The better we are at addressing our stressors and learning how we can reduce their effects, the healthier we become. 1. Avoid the snooze button We've already determined establishing a proper sleep schedule can help you become less tired throughout the day. With less grogginess comes more productivity and, in turn, a reduction of stress. And while heading to bed early seems simple enough, there are definitely tips and tricks that can help you settle your mind after a long day. Learn to unplug from technology up to 30 minutes prior to crawling underneath the covers. When it comes to rising, while it may be challenging, aim to get out of bed when your alarm goes off. Avoiding multiple taps of the snooze button will give your body more time to adjust to being awake instead of simply getting a few more minutes of shut eye that may just make you more tired. 2. Breathe While sitting at your desk, attending meetings, or commuting home, practice taking deep breaths throughout your day. Most of us take short, shallow inhales due to stress or an overall lack of body awareness. So try it out. Right now, take a 3-5 second inhale, hold at the top and slowly exhale for 3-5 seconds. We all lead busy lives filled with an overwhelming about of multitasking. And while it may be impossible to incorporate a much needed yoga class into your week, taking deep breaths is something your can do anywhere, anytime. 3. Sweat it out Starting this week, right now, aim to get in at least 3 workouts. Exercise releases endorphins and helps initiate an all-natural stress relief within the body. When you stop thinking of fitness as something you 'must do' and instead find an activity that you enjoy doing, you'll be more likely to continue. So go try a free fitness class and start working out your stress. Before you know it, you'll be looking forward to your weekly sweat sessions and be holding on to less tension. It's a win win! 4. Eat balanced meals I love a good s'mores as much as the next person, but when it comes to reducing stress and feeling your best, you must fuel your body with nutrient-dense foods. Aim to incorporate a large variety of fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet. The cleaner and less processed you eat, the more energy you'll have to get to the gym and release stress in a healthy way. 5. Unplug This may be the most difficult tip to adhere to, but if you're feeling stressed daily, it's necessary. Between our smart phones and constantly evolving technology, it can be hard to remove yourself. But, while this is all very valuable for our society, it's just as important for you to know when to turn it off and focus on your health. Unplugging can be as minimal as silencing your phone 30 minutes before bed and as grandiose as not opening your laptop all weekend. Regardless of which level you (and your job) choose to do, stick with it. You'll begin to notice your shoulders relax and an essence of calm as you power down elements of your life. Need Implementation of Panchayati Raj Act | Anil reports for IndiaUnheard
In India, the Panchayati Raj functions as a system of governance in which gram panchayats, the village councils, are the basic units of local administration. Formalised under the Panchayat Raj Act in 1992 by the 73rd amendment to the Indian Constitution, the village council looks after the development and welfare of the residents of the area through implementation of government schemes such as NREGA, Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan; preserving land rights of the district and managing the funds under various government schemes. When the resident of Galhaiya village in Uttar Pradesh elected their local Panchayat, they were hopeful that development in their area will start soon. However, to the horror of the residents, the anarchic Panchayat head refused to hold public meetings. "We want to know what comes to the village, what we get, and what we don't get. We want this but the head doesn't want it so that he can scam and steal from the schemes," says Omprakash Saroj, a resident of the village. While the Panchayat consists of other members, Omprakash reveals that the head has threatened them into conducting a meeting at his house. "He says if they don't meet in his house, he will cancel their positions," Omprakash reveals. While the residents refused to budge from their stand, the head too, put a stop to the various on-going projects in the area, bringing development to a halt. Enraged by the lack of implementation of the laws, Anil Kumar, Video Volunteers Community Correspondent in Uttar Pradesh decided to make a video and motivate the community into action. He made a video report on the issue. While holding community meetings and screenings, Anil also approached the Block Development Officer, a government official who supervises the smooth functioning of Village Panchayats. Along with the 40 residents of Galhaiya, he then submitted a written report on the misconduct of the village head. After the community-led application, the officer soon sprung into action. The Village head was dismissed from his position and a member of the council replaced him. The village's various schemes and development projects are now back on track thanks to a community's collective action. This video was made by a Video Volunteers Community Correspondent Anil Kumar Saroj. Coal County Country - Ed & Jolene Bullard, 1983
Track one of the album _Coal County Country_, Cattle LP 45, 1983. 12-inch 33 1/3 rpm vinyl LP record. The song was written by Ed Bullard, and recorded by him with his wife Jolene and three others: Buck Thetford, Wayne Martin and Rudy Q. Jones, at Jones’s studio in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, in 1983. This and the other eleven songs recorded that day were released that same year on a German record label, Cattle Records, based in Sülzheim. The Ada, Oklahoma, Evening News printed this information about Ed Bullard after his death: “Mr. Bullard died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at his home. He was born July 17, 1927, in Tupelo to Horace L. and Lula Bryant Bullard. “He was an evangelist with the Church of Christ. He traveled to several states working with church’s doing personal work and holding gospel meetings. He worked for the railroad and was depot agent at Strang. He married Jolene Helen Reed on March 17, 1948, at Strang. Mr. Bullard served in the U. S. Army, stationed in Panama where he was a radio operator and later he attended Bakers school and became a cook. “After moving back to Tupelo, he became a bus driver for Tupelo Public Schools. He and his wife started playing music and had made several bluegrass and gospel albums. They also had a radio program on KEOR in Atoka for several years. He was associated with the 32nd Street Church of Christ.” On the jacket of the LP, daughter Debbie Kirkpatrick wrote this about her parents in 1983: “The Bible says ‘All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord.’ This is especially true of Ed and Jolene. Because of a recent illness Jolene’s activities have been restricted and to compensate, she began to learn to play the guitar and banjo, while Ed at the same time learned to play the Dobro and started to write songs. Meanwhile Ed has written more than a hundred country and gospel songs. This album is a collection of songs which have all been written by Ed himself. “What started out to be a pastime soon turned into entertaining at various local functions. Presently they are performing at rest homes, churches and bluegrass festivals and joining various jam sessions. They have played at the Saturday Night Jamboree in Georgetown, Texas, and also have a standing invitation to play at the Bluegrass Opera Barn in Stilwell, Oklahoma, every second and fourth Saturday night, where they have performed several times already. “The fact that they have been playing only for a short time just proves you can do what you want. If you want to play country music and love it like they do, then you shooldn’t let anything stop you. Already noted artists recognize them as being good musicians. “Ed and Jolene live on a small farm in Coal County near Tupelo, Oklahoma. They run a few head of cattle and Ed puts up his own hay and takes care of the farm work. They both love the country living and are active in their church, but take the time to play music at least two or three times a week. “So get ready now to listen to Coal County’s finest couple and enjoy some real down home country music. Besides their two grand-daughters Kellie and Karen, I am their biggest fan. An well I should be, for I am their only daughter.” I don’t know if this material, copyrighted in 1983, is still under copyright protection. The record album is long out of print, and I don’t think it was ever issued on CD. The vinyl LP record can still be found from various on-line sellers. I hope that no one among the friends and family of Ed and Jolene Bullard will object to this posting. It is intended to honor their musical creations.
