Employee Performance Review - An Easy How-To-Guide

15:02
Employee Performance Review - An Easy How-To-Guide The annual employee performance appraisal doesn’t have to be so hard. This video is a step-by-step guide helping both managers and employees get ready to write, deliver and receive a useful and positive employee performance appraisal. Most people would rather get a root canal than participate in an annual employee performance appraisal. The reasons employee performance appraisals are so difficult is simple: 1. Most managers don’t deliver timely and balanced (positive and negative) feedback throughout the year. 2. Many employees don’t ask for regular feedback 3. Too much information is delivered during the annual employee performance appraisal. 4. And as crazy as it sounds, managers and employees haven’t agreed to give and receive regular and candid feedback. Employee performance appraisals don’t have to be the worst day of the year. Here are four steps to ensure employee performance appraisals are useful and positive: 1. Managers and employees must agree to give and receive balanced, candid feedback. Don’t assume the agreement to speak honestly is implicit, make it explicit. 2. Managers, be honest and courageous. Don’t rate an employee a five who is really a three. You don’t do anyone any favors. Employees want to know how they’re really doing, no matter how much the feedback may sting. 3. Managers, focus on three things the employee did well and three things to do more of next year. Any more input is overwhelming. 4. Managers, schedule a second conversation a week after the employee performance appraisal, so employees can think about and process what you’ve said and discuss further, if necessary. The key to being able to speak candidly during an employee performance appraisal is as simple as agreeing that you will do so and then being receptive to whatever is said. And don’t make feedback conversations a one-time event. If you do a rigorous workout after not exercising for a long time, you often can’t move the next day. Feedback conversations aren’t any different. They require practice for both the manager and employee to be comfortable. Sometimes You Have to Make a Decision That Hurts and Helps | Sales Training

04:52
909 I gave a discount. It's not the first time I've ever done it, it probably won't be the last time I ever do it. But I teach against it. And I preach against it. If your price is $1000, and you discount down to $900, $100 comes right out of profit. And in these times, profit is the only saving grace of business. My public seminar tickets sell for $149 each. If you buy 10 or more, they are $129, and it's been that way for some time. Earlier this month we had a meeting of everyone in the public seminar department, and decided that for the rest of August only we would offer our customers a $30 per ticket discount. And even though we sold a lot of tickets, I took a lot of flack. People wrote to me, emailed me, and called me out on the fact that I was giving a discount and going against my teachings. Not many people, but enough to ruffle my feathers. And it should be said that ten times as many people thanked me. And fifty times as many people bought tickets. Back to the discount. I agonized over whether I should offer it or not, knowing that people were going to yank my chain about it. But this is how I made the final decision: The amount of money that we would "lose" was not going to be "make it or break it" dollars. In fact, by comparison to the rest of our income, it was a very (very) low percentage. With the economy in the state that it's in, and many companies canceling their own sales meetings, and not supporting their own salespeople the way they used to by paying for one of my tickets, I decided to make this offer directly to salespeople. My email magazine reaches more than 300,000 people. The preponderance of the readers are traditional salesmen and saleswomen who pound the pavement and pound the sales phone lines to earn a living. I decided to take money out of my pocket, and allow it to stay in their pocket so they might have an incentive to buy a ticket on their own, without reimbursement from their boss. And many did. The dilemma was, "Do I try to help my fellow salesperson, or hold my price and potentially preclude them from deciding to attend?" The choice was easy. I decided to do it, I actually decided to try it. The sale ends tomorrow. We will have sold several hundred tickets to several hundred salespeople. Many of who sent personal thank you notes and emails of gratitude. Maybe I did go against my teaching, but I did not go against my customer. I also stated that this discount was for a limited time - August. If you call here on Thursday and ask for the discount, you won't get it. And it will be removed from our website. And please keep in mind this was not an "I have to do this" discount. This was an "I want to do this" discount. Yeah, maybe I'm justifying it. But I didn't do it to stay in business, rather I did it to promote goodwill and give more people an opportunity to attend a sales seminar that just might help them succeed through this economic mess. How are your prices holding up? Thinking of offering a discount? Thinking of having a "sale"? Many companies are discounting out of desperation to make sales. Companies that sell cars, houses, and furniture are examples of businesses in trouble that are seemingly forced to discount. I was not. I was creating my own stimulus package for my customers. If (for whatever reason) you are going to offer your customers a lower price, the following guidelines will help ensure success, and insure customer loyalty: 1. Make certain that you can afford to discount. 2. Make certain there is some profit for you after the discount. 3. Have a start and end date. Do not go beyond the stated end date. 4. Have the promotion in the hands of ALL your customers electronically (proactive email is best). 4.5 Make certain that accounting is as involved as sales and marketing. In this economy people have come to expect discounts and "sales" as a part of the downturn and (slow) recovery. If you choose to offer one, make certain that your customer feels valued, that you can back it up with service, and that when the discount period is over, you have your goodwill intact. Be prepared for the loud scream at 0:58. This video is an example of how loud cats matings can be. The loudness depends on the individual. What you see there is just a perfectly normal scene of successful cats mating. There is no violence, cruelty or animal abuse in this video (as you can see, female cat is not even trying to escape after mating). Female cat's reaction is completely normal and defined by anatomy and physiology of cats. So, why is the cat screaming? You can find the answer to this question in Wikipedia, just follow the link below http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat#Repr... Dining Etiquette: Tea and Coffee

02:07
Formal Dining: Tea and Coffee - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Tea and coffee have arrived, and I have chosen tea today. And I want to add some things to sweeten my tea. I am going to reach for some sugar. And what we so frequently see is a lot of this, or this. None of those things would be as appropriate as a very gentle movement, quiet, adding this to your tea or coffee, no scrunching it up like this but keeping it very clean around your plate. Then you are going to add some milk, and of course tea is served with milk, where coffee is often served with cream. I am going to bring the milk pitcher towards me, always holding the lid, and then pouring. Setting this off to the side. Now prior to even finishing this, I may wish to pass this to someone else. I must turn the milk around so that they can actually pick it up by the handle and then I am going to hand it to them like this, while I look at them, nod and smile slightly. Then I am going to pick up my spoon and very quietly stir my tea or coffee. I am not going to hit the edge like this, and I am definitely not going to lick the spoon. And I am going to set that down. Now, you can bring your cup closer to you, and then you are going to bring the cup right up to your lips this way, rather than you going down. And of course you cannot blow on your beverage to cool it either. So it is a sip. If you are having some thing in an Asian surrounding, you would want to put your other hand onto the bottom of the cup so the bottom is never seen. Interesting. So: a nice cup of tea.

Drinking Etiquette - Tips When Making a toast

01:10
Drinking Etiquette - Tips When Making a toast- as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Here are some tips for making a toast. If you are toasting someone in a large group, you want to stand up, hold the glass at chest height and then, make the toast. If it is a smaller group, you can remain seated. Still hold the glass in front of you and look at the person you are toasting. When you make the toast, say something short and sweet while you are looking someone in the eye and smiling. For instance, 'Bill, even though you will never beat me at golf, you will always come in first as a really great guy. Congratulations on your promotion.' Then, lift your glass and take a sip. Another thing, there is no need to clink glasses. That tradition comes from a time when people believed you had to clink your glasses to expel evil spirits. Just smile, raise your glass and that is good enough. Cheers.

One Minute Skill Builder - Difference Between Collaborative Meetings and Educational Presentations

01:20
In this Webinar Skill Builder Minute I'm going to underscore the difference between collaborative meetings and educational presentations -- and how they need to be handles differently. Web conferencing as a collaborative tool between team members can be extremely productive. Webinars are a way to present information to large groups and then solicit feedback from the audience are also a wonderful business tool. But if you mix up the two, you are destined for trouble. The list of things that can go wrong include unmuted phones, presenters getting interrupted, attendees unknowingly showing up on the conference webcam, and sub-conference rooms not being 'sub-conference'. If you are holding a webinar that is primarily one-way transfer of information from speaker to audience, make sure you tightly limit interaction within the audience. Have a moderator in place who can manage technical issues as well as audience problems. Make sure your presenters know what is expected of them, including privacy requirements during the presentation. Remember, just because web conferencing technology allows an open forum, it doesn't mean you have to structure your meeting that way. To contact us: 866-930-4500 / ConferTel.net

The larger the building, the more organisation is required to ensure everyone is evacuated effectively and as safely as possible. But regardless of the size or type of building or buildings, or number of employees, every organisation should have a tried and tested evacuation plan. Desperate Prayer - Leonard Ravenhill Sermon

01:16:32
Desperate Prayer - Leonard Ravenhill Sermon Leonard Ravenhill Playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL98DA7555F2E1729D Leonard Ravenhill (1907--1994) was an English Christian evangelist and author who focused on the subjects of prayer and revival. He is best known for challenging the modern church (through his books and sermons) to compare itself to the early Christian Church as chronicled in the Book of Acts. His most notable book is Why Revival Tarries which has sold over a million copies worldwide. Born in Leeds, in Yorkshire, England, Ravenhill was educated at Cliff College in England and sat under the ministry of Samuel Chadwick. He was a student of church history, with a particular interest in Christian revival. His evangelistic meetings during the Second World War drew large crowds. Many converts devoted themselves to Christian ministry and foreign missions. In 1939, he married an Irish nurse, Martha. The Ravenhills had three sons: Paul, David, and Philip. Paul and David are Christian ministers, and Philip is a teacher. In 1950, Ravenhill and his family moved from Great Britain to the United States. In the 1960s they traveled within the United States, holding tent revivals and evangelistic meetings. In the 1980s, Ravenhill moved to a home near Lindale, Texas, a short distance from Last Days Ministries Ranch. He regularly taught classes at LDM and was a mentor to the late Keith Green. He also spent some time teaching at Bethany College of Missions in Minnesota, and some time in Seguin, Texas. Among others influenced by Ravenhill were Ray Comfort, Ravi Zacharias, Tommy Tenney, Steve Hill, Charles Stanley, Bill Gothard, Paul Washer, and David Wilkerson. He was a close friend of pastor and writer A. W. Tozer. Through his teaching and books, Ravenhill addressed the disparities he perceived between the New Testament Church and the Church in his time and called for adherence to the principles of biblical revival. Tozer said of Ravenhill: "To such men as this, the church owes a debt too heavy to pay. The curious thing is that she seldom tries to pay him while he lives. Rather, the next generation builds his sepulchre and writes his biography -- as if instinctively and awkwardly to discharge an obligation the previous generation to a large extent ignored." Gravesite at Garden Valley Cemetery Ravenhill died in November 1994 and is interred at Garden Valley Cemetery in Garden Valley, Texas, near the grave of Contemporary Christian music artist Keith Green. In 2011 Free Grace Press published a full biography of Leonard Ravenhill written by Mack Tomlinson titled, "In Light of Eternity. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "A Call to Separation - A. W. When he wanted to be fancy, he'd add what usually turned out to be an ineffective chart or sometimes a table. And when Jim wanted to really spice things up, he'd add...yep...clip art. Unfortunately, Jim's approach would often confuse and bore people. This was a problem because he had important things to say. And because it was dimming his prospects for success. Fortunately, Jim learned a better way and didn't stay in the dark for long. Perhaps most importantly, he now focuses on the story he wants to tell. In doing so, he tries to follow a simple structure, with a clear beginning, middle, and end that links together his various points and builds to his conclusion. When formulating his story, Jim uses a simple pad of paper or sicky notes. Staying low tech at this stage helps him think more creatively and stay outside the box. He then considers what tools will help him best tell his story. Jim sometimes opts to use a whiteboard, flip charts, handouts, or even no props at all. When it makes sense for him to use PowerPoint, he tries to remember the adage that sometimes "less is more." He doesn't dumb down his presentations, but he does try to limit each slide to one key idea. Or, depending on the content, he sometimes builds an idea incrementally so it's easy to follow. He looks for visual ways to tell his story, with minimal text, photos, and clear charts and graphs. Quote: "All the so-called "Secrets of success" will not work unless you do. -Unknown" Sometimes he'll use quotes, but he tries to remember that people can't read his slides and truly listen at the same time. Jim still uses plenty of text to help him remember what he wants to say, but he hides it in his notes that only he sees (show view notes screen). Jim's new approach takes more time, energy, and rehearsal, but it's been well worth the effort. His audiences are now much more engaged and better understand and remember his presentations. And, as if that weren't enough...(congrats on the promotion)...his pocketbook doesn't mind either. (Pause) This has been Powerful Presentations: Simply Stated. We were told we could not record a public meeting in a public park about what Occupy Olympia was about, why people were there and what decisions they were going to consider. And somehow I am now being called a racist.

CDC's 2010 Sustainability Forum: How to Plan a Green and Healthy Conference

01:36:20
You can minimize the impact of conferences through limited consumption of energy and resources. On October 14th, the CDC hosted its 2010 Sustainability forum on "How to Plan a Green and Healthy Conference". A panel of experts weighed in on how to choose healthy foods for conferences and how to incorporate exercise/ wellness into meeting agendas. By scheduling breaks for physical activity, providing healthy snacks, and locating meetings in central locations you promote a healthier, happier conference setting. A representative of a major hotel and conference chain provided information on green conference locations. Although hosting an entirely sustainable meeting may seem daunting, implementing just a few environmentally friendly practices can make a positive impact. Quick Cash Sales Conversion Secrets - How I do it

10:13
http://www.ConversationsToCash.com Last week, I released the first video in my series. And it has evoked a profound wave of gratitude in those who have seen it. The messages, tweets, comments and social media updates ... even personal notes I have received thanking me for this video have made a few things crystal clear: It really is the missing link to quick profits! And it makes me know I made the right choice in releasing it. Because this wasn't an easy video to make. It wasn't an easy decision to make it public. Because it doesn't deal with a happy, palatable message. It doesn't tell you everything is going to be alright. It doesn't reveal a new paradigm (whatever the hell that is). Instead, it deals with something most of us are terrified of. Sales. Yep, just saying that word can cause your breath to catch. And beads of sweat to dribble down your forehead. In fact, the response to even thinking about sales is such that most of us would much rather hide our heads in the sand, believing that if we just visualize money, and hope for it hard enough, clients will appear. http://www.ConversationsToCash.com But sadly, nothing could be further from the truth. Because attraction only takes you so far. Affirming great things may help you recognize opportunities. But they won't help you make them real. But sales will. Because sales took me from making a measly 40 grand a year to 7 figures so fast it took my breath away. I was a PERFORMANCE major. I worked in the THEATRE industry. Not exactly Wall St. material. Not exactly someone that would make Donald Trump quake in his boots. But because I wanted more in my life, I discovered a powerful truth that changed my life forever. And that is: Sales is a positive force for change. Sales is transformative. In fact, its even profound. Because there is no more sacred moment that when someone makes the decision to making the highest vision of their lives real. And that is exactly what happens in your clients when you discover how to sell the RIGHT WAY. And when you can pivot the fear of sales into seeing it as the biggest opportunity for your prospects ... the doors fly open. That is what our second video is about. Its the process I use to convert 90% of prospects to clients. Including the simple secret that dissolves the objections we all fear the most: • money • spouse • even the dreaded "I'm not ready!" Its true: The most profound instant in the lives of your prospects comes when they make the decision to invest in their highest vision for their lives. And invest in you. If you are ready to stop being afraid of sales, and ready to see it as an opportunity. Not just for you .. . but for your prospective clients ... to transform your lives, and the world as well ... Then you are about to receive one huge a-ha. http://www.ConversationsToCash.com

http://neccst.com http://toucheducation.com.m4v http://massagenerd.tv We provide a 2 year curriculum with regularly scheduled classes every four months. Our commitment to the curriculum means you have the chance to flourish and learn the techniques in the perfect way for you. In each class you learn a set of skills and techniques that you take back to your clinic and put into practice right away. You have 3 months of practice and then come back for another class to build on what you have learned so far. Having a curriculum to move through assures a progression of skills and a continuing of learning. This method also assures that the techniques you learn become second nature to you. Good habits and proper techniques are always emphasized throughout the entire process. Our classes are limited in size to 12 people so you are assured of getting individual attention throughout your entire learning process. By limiting the class size we assure you of the ultimate learning experience. Every class you will receive individual attention and guidance making sure you understand the techniques and are able to apply them in the most effective way possible. We understand your commitment in wanting to learn CranioSacral Therapy. We want to match that with our commitment to offering the best possible class we can. To do that we limit the class size and have at least 1 teaching assistant for every 4 students. You will learn CranioSacral Therapy in a way that suits your learning style. We offer continuing support through the entire process including regular phone meetings between classes to make sure you are getting the support you need. Learning a new skill requires the ability to ask questions about your clinical experiences. Every month we have a Tele Seminar for students in the curriculum. They are designed to check in on your progress and to reconnect with the rest of the class. The calls are 90 minutes long and provide a forum for you to ask any and all questions that have been coming up for you since the previous class. Our monthly phone meetings also give us the chance to see how you are doing with any limiting belief systems that might be arising for you. When we are learning something new, our critical mind comes into play and begins to cast doubts into our thinking. We question whether we are feeling things correctly, if we are feeling things at all; if we are doing the techniques properly, if we are ever going to be as good a therapist as "x". These limiting belief systems that appear are a product of our history. They happen to everybody at some point. There are strategies that can be put into place to help overcome your limiting beliefs and turn them from energetic drains into sources of power that can help you become the best therapist you can possibly become. Our monthly phone calls allow you to reaffirm and reconnect with the strategies you need to continue your growth as a therapist. Our Certification is a peer reviewed process. Certification begins in the very first class and continues through the entire curriculum. We want to make sure that you fully understand the material being covered in each class. At the end of the first year is an integration class that helps pull together all the material that has been covered and also provides you with your first level of Certification. Everybody in the class is involved in helping each other become certified, assuring that you know the material.

TEDxKrakow - Matt Marsh - People shaped innovation

13:03
Matt Marsh is an expert in customer-centred innovation. With his long experience as head of the human factors design research and studio at IDEO, and more recently though his own consultancy Firsthand Experience, he helps businesses to maximise the fundamental appeal of new products, services and visitor experiences. He believes that all too often compelling business invention and technology opportunities fail because real people —users, customers, consumers, or citizens — aren't involved at an early enough stage or in the right way in the design process. Matt spoke at TEDxKraków, an independently organised TED event which took place on 20 October 2011 at the Manggha Centre for Japanese Art and Technology in Kraków, Poland. Our theme was "The New Normal" and we asked our speakers to tell us about what we might just have to get used to once the dust settles from the various ongoing geopolitical, financial and environmental crises. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations). Contractor's Cost Double Gov't Workers

03:04
Yesterday the new deficit commission held one of its first meetings to establish how the "super committee" would tackle the difficult task of saving 1.2 trillion dollars in government spending over the next 10 years. One of the areas that found itself under the spending microscope is the military contractors. And the Project on Government Oversight has revealed that the US government is paying billions more when it doles out work to contractors, as opposed to keeping that work amongst its own military. We'll take a look at some of the numbers.

Mary's primary talk

02:13
Mary gave a talk in the primary program of sacrament meeting. Here's how it went. Yes, she is reading off the paper that I'm holding :-p So, you probably already know me, but if you don't, my name is Mary, and today I'd like to talk about choosing wholesome entertainment to keep our minds pure. Think about the stuff you watch on a screen, read in a book, or allow in your mind through music, pictures, and games. What does it teach you? Personally I think it's easy to avoid the REALLY bad stuff. I can't imagine most of my primary friends are going to hear this talk and say, "Ooookay, I'll stop looking dirty pictures." But what about the little things like dirty words? Or the even the smaller things, like making it seem OK to treat each other badly? Jesus didn't think treating others badly was a little thing at all! But if we believe what the world would tell us, it really isn't a big deal. And it's easy to let those thoughts get into our minds through our media choices. Emerson said, "Watch your thoughts. They become words. Watch your words. They become deeds. Watch your deeds. They become habits. Watch your habits. They become character. Character is everything." King Benjamin said it too, in Mosiah chapter 4, verse 30: "But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch yourselves, and your thoughts, and your words, and your deeds, and observe the commandments of God, and continue in the faith of what ye have heard concerning the coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, remember, and perish not." It can be really hard to avoid those influences sometimes, but I think it's important to pay attention to what the world is trying to tell you, and ask yourself, is this what the Lord teaches me? If it isn't, you can make a choice to stop watching, stop playing, stop reading, stop listening, or do whatever it takes to keep those impure ideas out of your mind. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Abhay Patel-Presidential Candidate Re-Elect for EMSOP 2014

03:05
Abhay Patel Class of 2014 Re-Election Address Hello Class of 2014, September 15, 2010: It seemed just like yesterday when we all accepted our white coats for the first time, signifying the start to our professional pharmacy school career. Now, almost at the end of the school year, we have all, as a class, come a very long way from where we started, and the Class Council has been with you all every step of the way. My name is Abhay Patel, and I am running for re-election as President for the Class of 2014. From organizing the white coat ceremony, to hosting the transfer social, holding class meetings, setting up review sessions, to solely hosting the Mr. PharmD competition, working with faculty to rearrange exam conflicts, providing in-class lunches, even offering resources on our Sakai page for our class to benefit from, my fellow class officers and I have been there and know what it takes to get the job done. We could not have done it without your support and desire to see it happen, and we thank you for that. It is a genuine love for what we do that encourages us to try new things, and our willfulness to serve our class is limitless. Now, with halfway done rolling up so quickly, we are working diligently to make sure that it will be a night filled with fun, laughter, and great memories for everyone to enjoy. After all, you're HALFWAY there, so let's celebrate it! But as many of you already know, my determination doesn't just stop there. Next year will be a whole new arena, with many more opportunities for greater ideas to be fostered. But instead of waiting till September to start anew, why not start now? We are working on approving a seminar on Networking 101 and Professionalism in preparation for our first IPPE rotation this summer. For next year, we will continue to maintain our Sakai page, website, and our new Formspring site, but aside from that, we intend to provide extra resources for the class to better help studying for all our critical courses next year, including review sessions. We also intend to design a line of pharmacy apparel as a long-term fundraiser for the class and school. We will also host de-stress activities to cope with our strenuous course load. Additionally, we plan to further enhance our reach with the New Brunswick shops and commerce to provide sponsors for our future programs and events. So my fellow classmates, remember the date September 15, 2010; the day you took that leap into your roles as future pharmacists, and choose a leader who has guided, and will continue to show our class the road, from start to finish. I, Abhay Patel, intend to earn your vote for a 3rd term, to continue to serve our class with persistence and sincerity. Thank you.

Neurotheology 5 - This lecture in neurotheology focuses on spiritual teachings about the body by neuroscientist Todd Murphy. Starting with an hypothesis (only an hypothesis; there is no evidence as yet) about Kundalini and how it projects our states of consciounsess into our bodies, it also looks at the neural basis for Subtle bodies. There is also a brief discussion of Chi and Yoga. This talk is given by Todd Murphy, inventor of the 8 Coil Shakti (similar to the Persinger God Helmet) and the Shiva Neural stimulation system. Todd Murphy's book "Sacred Pathways: The Brain's Role in Religious and Mystic Experiences" (foreword by His Holiness, The Dalai Lama) is now available.
